Adjustment instructions / replacement option for C transfer tube 2002 (ND 230)
with defined residual prestress on the thrust ring

Prestressing the thrust ring prevents the penetrating of concrete and axial compression of the
C transfer tube which might occur if the adjustment instructions (prestressing via the yoke)
are not carried out thoroughly. This prestress is maintained irrespective of how worn the part
may be. Please note that if prestress applied by the yoke is insufficient, a gap may appear
between the wear plate and ring which causes greater wear (blasting wear).

1. Functional description of the system

If no adjustment is carried out, a gap or leak appears between the wear

ring and spectacle wear plate. This is critical because blasting wear and
encrustation occurs

X = 3 to 4 mm

Always butts even when worn

Compressed

by 1 to 1.5 mm

The thrust ring is prestressed by about 1 to 1.5 mm between the C transfer tube and
wear ring using 3 bolts.
This ensures that no material can penetrate between the thrust ring/C transfer tube
and the wear ring.
This prestress is maintained irrespective of the state of the wear parts.
Installation of the C transfer tube in the hopper prestresses the thrust ring through the
adjusting screws on the yoke by a further 2.5 to 3 mm.
Further adjustment using the 2 adjustment screws on the yoke must be carried out
depending on the state of the wear parts on the yoke/wear ring and spectacle wear
plate.

2. Adjustment instruction

- Install thrust ring no. 1 and wear ring no. 2 with O-ring no. 3
- Prestress 1: Bolt the wear ring on to the C transfer tube until it is finger-tight using three
bolts (no.4). (Thrust ring prestressed by 1 to 1.5 mm); ring gap between the C transfer tube
and wear ring approx. 3.5 to 4 mm all round.
- Prestress 2: Install the C transfer tube and adjust “from the outside” using the 2 adjusting
bolts on the yoke, until the gap between the C transfer tube and wear ring is
X = 0.5 to 1 mm.

Disassembly

Once it has been established while replacing a wear ring that the 3 bolts no longer
have any travel, they are removed from the slots using a large screw driver or a chisel
and the wear ring is disassembled.

3. Replacement options

Wear ring ND 230, P/N 293151009 (with 3 threaded bores) replaces wear ring P/N
293397009 with immediate effect and can be installed in the C transfer tube R 2002
P/N 285108002 (without being prestressed i.e without fitting the three M 6 bolts).
