Pressure sensor 420220

Dear Sir,

new PM pumps with FFH-EL (Single circuit or double circuit) are equipped with a
pressure sensor pt. no. 420220. This sensor is monitoring the actual hydraulic pressure
and will decrease pump speed if high pressure comes close to the set value (normally
280 or 350 Bar depending on the machine type).
If this sensor breaks down completely during pumping, a red fault LED is illuminated on
the control cabinet front side. On mobile pumps pumping will still goon but reduced to a
maximum pump speed of only 50%. On PUMIs comes a fault message up and after
reset pumping with a maximum of half speed is also possible.

A faulty sensor can give a high output value which is unreal but still within the
theoretically possible range. In that case the pumping slows down or stops due to this
non existing high pressure. The pistons just stop and the output current to the hydraulic
pumps is 300 milliamps or even lower.

The easiest way to detect the fault is to disconnect the sensor's plug. Afterwards the
pump should run with a half pump speed limit again.
If a Service engineer is on site it is furthermore possible to read out the actual pressure
on the display of the EOC module inside the control cabinet. In normal operation mode it
is just necessary to press button 401 until you get the value of P4. It is the actual
hydraulic pressure shown with 3 digits.
Example of monitoring on the EOC module display:
P4 shown on the upper line
356 shown on the lower line

means that the actual pressure in the hydraulic system is 356 bar.

The pump can work for a limited time without the pressure sensor. To ensure a full
performance again, the sensor should be replaced in a short time.

Please store at least one sensor in your stock.
