It is the branch of science
which deals with the study
of origin, development &
general features of the
Universe
यह विऻान की िह शाखा है जो
ब्रहमाांड की उत्पत्त्ि, विकास और
सामान्य विशेषिाओां के अध्ययन से
सांबांधिि है
• Gravitationally bound system of
many galaxies, solar system, stars,
planets and satellite.

• कई आकमशगांगम, सौय भांडर, तमयों, ग्रहों औय

उऩग्रहों के गरुु त्िमकर्षण से फांधे हुए प्रणमरी को
ब्रहभमांड के रूऩ भें जमनम जमतम है
In 10th Mandal Of Rigveda it was written that,
“Universe was never created nor could be
destroyed, it is a stable entity.”

ऋग्िेद के 10 िें भण्डर भें लरखम है कक,

“ब्रहभमांड को न कबी फनममम गमम औय न ही कबी नष्ट ककमम
जम सकतम है , मह एक स्थथय तत्ि है
• Gravitationally Bound system of many
Solar System, Stars, Planets, Satellite is
known as Galaxy.
• कई सौय भांडर, तमये , ग्रह, उऩग्रह के गुरुत्िमकर्षण से
फांधे हुए प्रणमरी को आकमशगांगम के नमभ से जमनम
जमतम है
• Our Galaxy is called as milky way galaxy
or Mandakini.
• हभमयी आकमशगांगम को लभल्की िे गैरेक्सी मम
भांदमककनी कहम जमतम है ।
• Andromeda galaxy is the nearest galaxy
to our galaxy.
• एांड्रोभेडम आकमशगांगम हभमयी आकमशगांगम के सफसे
ननकट की आकमशगांगम है ।
• In 1610 Galileo discovered milky way

• In 1805 Herschelle give his theory of
Universe

see in the sky or space is known as
celestial body.
• E.g. Star, Planets, Sun, Moon, satellite

• Gravitationally Bound system of many
Stars, Planets, Satellite, dwarf planet,
meteorite, asteroid, comets, gases and
dust particles is known as solar system.
• कई तमयों, ग्रहों, उऩग्रहों, फौने ग्रह, उल्कमवऩांड,
ऺुद्रग्रह, धभू केतु, गैसों औय धर ू के कणों के
गुरुत्िमकर्षण से फांधे हुए प्रणमरी को सौय भांडर के
रूऩ भें जमनम जमतम है ।
• Our solar system consist of 1 star, 8
planets, 219 satellite, 5 dwarf planet,
meteorite, asteroid, comets, etc.
• हभमये सौय भांडर भें 1 तमयम, 8 ग्रह, 219 उऩग्रह, 5
फौनम ग्रह, उल्कमवऩांड, ऺुद्रग्रह, धूभकेतु आदद शमलभर
हैं।
• This Model is given by Ptolemy in 140 AD.
• Earth is stable & centre of Solar System.
• Every natural entity that we see in the sky
revolves around the Earth.

the sun.

light is called as star.
• Proxima Centauri is the nearest star to our
solar system.

• Must have sufficient mass to hold itself on
its orbit.
• Must not intersect orbit of another planet
before completing 1 revolution.

• Smallest Planet hence it has least mass
• No atmosphere and no satellite.

• यह सयू य के सबसे ननकट का ग्रह है इसलऱए इसकी कऺीय

गनि सबसे िेज है
• सबसे छोटा ग्रह है इसलऱए इसका द्रव्यमान सबसे कम है
• कोई िािािरण और कोई उपग्रह नह ां है ।
• Hottest planet hence the brightest planet
• Only planet which rotates east to west
• No satellite.
• Longest rotation period 243 day & same
revolution period.
• Also called Earth’s Twin and morning • and
evening star.

• एकमात्र ग्रह जो पिू य से पत्चचम की ओर घमू िा है

• It is called as Red planet (iron oxide and pink
soil)
• It has two Satellites (Phobos & Demos)
• Rotation period is similar to earth 24 hour and
axial tilt is also similar to earth i.e. 24 degree.

satellite of our solar system)

• It contain dusty rings and volcanoes.

• It is the 2nd largest planet of our solar
system
• It is the most least dense planet so it is
the most flatten planet
• It has 82- satellite (Titan, phobe, tethys)

• It rotates from north to south
direction therefore its only 1 side
receives sunlight throughout the year.
• It is called as green planet (frozen
methane).

का प्रकाश प्राप्ि होिा है ।
