1) जीवन की अनुकूल परिस्थिततयों के कािर् ही पृथ्वी को सबसे अद्भुि ग्रह कहा
जाता है || Conditions favorable to support life are probably found only on the earth. 2) सूयण से दूिी के अनुसाि यह तीसिा ग्रह है || The earth is the third nearest planet to the sun 3) आकाि में यह सौिमंडल का पांचवा बडा ग्रह है || Fifth largest planet. 4) पृथ्वी का आकाि पूिी तिह गोल ना होकि यह ध्रुवों पर चपटी है, इसका स्वयं का अपना एक आकाि है इसे भू-आभ कहा जाता है || It is slightly flattened at the poles. That is why, its shape is described as a Geoid. Geoid means an earth-like shape. 5) पानी की अशिकता के कािर् इसे नीला ग्रह भी कहा जाता है || the earth appears blue because its two-thirds surface is covered by water. 9) चन्दद्रमा || Moon

2) सेलेनोलॉजी || Selenology - चंद्रमा का अध्ययन || Moon study 3) व्यास पृथ्वी के व्यास का एक चौथाई है || Its diameter is only one-quarter that of the earth. 4) यह पृथ्वी से 3,84,400 ककमी की दूिी पि स्थित है || It is about 3,84,400 km away from us. 5) चंद्रमा, पृथ्वी का एक च्करि लगभग 27 पदन में पूिा किता है || Moon moves around the earth in about 27 days. 6) यह अपने अक्ष पि भी एक च्करि लगभग इतने ही ददनों में पूिा किता है, इसललए पृथ्वी से देखने पि चंद्रमा का केवल एक ही भाग हमें ददखाई देता है || It takes exactly the same time to complete one spin. As a result, only one side of the moon is visible to us on the earth. 7) It has mountains, plains, and depressions on its surface. These cast shadows on the moon’s surface. 1) तािों, ग्रहों औि उपग्रहों के अततरिक्त असंख्य छोटे-
छोटे आकाशीय दपिं ड क्षुद्र ग्रह कहलाते हैं || Apart from the stars, planets and satellites, there are numerous tiny bodies which also move around the sun. 2) सौिमंडल में ये मंगल एवं बृहस्पति की कक्ाओ ं के बीच स्थित है, एवं ये भी सूयण की परिक्रमा किते है || They are found between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter 3) Scientists are of the view that asteroids are parts of a planet which exploded many years back. 11) उल्कापपिं ड || Meteoroids
1) सूयण के चािों ओि च्करि लगाने वाले पत्थिों के छोटे-छोटे टु कडों
को उल्कादपिं ड कहते है। The small pieces of rocks which move around the sun are called meteoroids. 2) कभी-कभी ये अपने पथ से भटककि पृथ्वी के वायुमंडल में प्रवेश कि जाते हैं कुछ वायुमंडल म़ें ही र्र्षणण से समाप्ि हो जाते है | Sometimes these meteoroids come near the earth and tend to drop upon it. During this process due to friction with the air they get heated up and burn. It causes a flash of light. 3) नकन्तु कुछ पृथ्वी से टकिाकि जैवमंडल को भािी नुकसान पहुंचाते है, एवं पृथ्वी की सतह पि गहिे गड्डों का ननमाणर् किते है । Sometimes, a meteor without being completely burnt, falls on the earth and creates a hollow. Aryabhatta was a famous astronomer of ancient India. He said that the moon and the planets shine due to reflected sunlight || आयसभट्ट प्राचीन भारत के एक प्रलसद्ध िगोििास्त्री थे। उन्होंने कहा कक परावर्ततत सूयस के प्रकाि के कारण चंद्रमा और ग्रह चमकते हैं।
