Materials- What is materials when we are talking about used in productions?

Materials refers to the

artwork presented on a production such as the script on a drama, music and lyrics, or choreography. It is
the center of the production that consist the concept that is expressed through art. Because it is the
center of the production, it needs to be a good and functional too. When we watch movies with bad
plot, or a music with inappropriate lyrics and not in a fun way to listen to and when we watch dance
performance that has mixed choreo and too messy……. That my friends the things that I’ve mentioned
are called descriptions of a material. Halimbawa pa, may kumanta ng original song tapos nagustuhan mo
yung flow ng music nya, it means that the artist has a good material. Isa ito sa pinagbabasehan ng mga
critics and ang mga involved mainly na parts ng performance arts dito is yung script, lyrics ng kanta and
yung choreography ng sayaw.

METHODS

Methods refers to the framework of the production. It provides the skeletal plan that will serves as the
guide for the whole production. It contains the objectives or goals, material, procedures, manpower
assignment, target date of finish.

Objectives or goals are the expected output or result of the production. Objectives must be SMART

Title or name of Production refers to the name of productions. The name of the production should be
the one to catch the audience’s attention.

Target Audience refers to the group that is the primary target of the production.

Procedures are the activities that need to be done.

Venue or Platform refers to the space you will use to execute your production. It can be physical space
or an online platform.

Date of Implementation or Target date of Finish is the expected of production’s launching date.

The things involved here are the setting and the backbone of the production. It carries everything from
the objectives or planning stage of the production to the launch date of the performance. Dahil madami
ang involved na paplanuhin ng manager dito, ito ang pinakamabigat na trabaho sa production. Kumbaga
lahat ng bagay inaarrange at pinaplano niya and palaman or yung content nalang ang hindi niya
papalanuhin.
FORM

Form refers to the physical characteristics of an art. It is about the utilization of the elements of art such
as line, shape, form, space, color, value and texture. And these elements are arranged based on the
principles of design in creating masterpiece. Since we’re on prodcutions, Guys isa ito sa mga concept ng
paggawa sa art na nakafocus sa makukulay na bahagi ng production. Diba may costume at design ang
mga productions tulad ng movies at teatro? Yun yung tinutukoy dito. Yung mga design ng venue, camera
settings, spacing para sa mga nagpeperform, yung pinaka backbone pagdating sa mga performance arts
tulad ng pagkanta, pagtula, pagsayaw paggawa ng pelikula at etc, FORM ang tawag sa creative backbone
ng isang production.

After understanding the concepts artists considered in creating art, you are now ready to leap to a
bigger step of producing an art production. According to Quipper (2018), there are 4Ms to consider: Dito
na involved sila Materials, Methods, Machine at Manpower.
