Student Readiness:
Topic: The students already knew about how heat, energy and temperature are always part of our daily
lives. The capacity of a substance or, more broadly, of any physical system to transport heat energy to
another physical system is measured by its temperature. A thing has a greater propensity to transfer
heat when its temperature is higher. The likelihood that an object will be on the receiving end of heat
transfer increases with the object's temperature.
Learning Preferences:
Students from Grade 10 year level are a combination of visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learners.

Refraction Insight
● It is important because it will save money by reducing our electrical bill (or our general energy
bill for that matter) and when you limit your energy usage, you lower your impact on the
environment. The longer we go without making significant changes, the greater the threat of
global warming and climate change become to our daily lives.
Refraction Question
Day 1
● Why is it important for us to conserve energy?
Scaffolding of Reflection:

FLEXIBLE LEARNING PLAN
SY 2022-2023
● Why do you think is it important to learn about heat, power and energy?
● How can I help lessen our electrical bill and our environment after knowing about heat power
and energy?
● Understand how heat, power and energy is related to each other and how it affects our
consumption affect the environment.
Transfer (Application):
● Give suggestions on how to reduce consumption of energy and ways to conserve energy.

Strategies
● Self-Discovery
During the synchronous session, the class will be divided into 4 groups and will be task to make
an energy conservation action plan, a representative for each group will then present what the
group has made and give a short explanation why they come up with those list.
Students will be asked random questions consecutively during the class discussion to encourage
students’ participation and engagement. Students are additionally urged to investigate their
own thoughts and ask questions.
Topics:
● Review on energy and temperature
● Heat energy
● Heat transfer
● How is electricity generated?
● Electrical Energy distribution and transportation
● Work, Power, Energy, and Cost of electricity
Prelection:
● The MADI METER will be used to ask students to rate their morning session by selecting
the number that best captures how they are feeling right now. The teacher will proceed
with a review of the fundamentals of mixes after some brief preamble.
Strategy: The student may raise their hands showing the corresponding number of their response,
the teacher will then call 3 random students to share to the class what choice they picked in the

selection.
Nexus:
● You already reviewed the different types of energy on your previous lectures, you already
know the ability to perform tasks is referred to as energy. Energy can take many different
forms such as Mechanical, Thermal, Nuclear, Chemical, Electromagnetic, etc. You also
learned the definition of temperature and its scales. Today we will focus on the different
types of heat transfer, power and electrical energy distribution and transportationand how
it is all related to each other.
Lesson Proper:
● Short review on energy and temperature
● Ask–Review on Types Energy and temperature:
● According to your previous lectures give one example of a type of energy?
● What is the formula for potential energy?
● What is the formula for kinetic energy?
● What is temperature?
● What are the temperature scales?
Strategy: When a student volunteers to share his or her response in class, the teacher may call on
that student. If no one steps forward to volunteer, the teacher may call on random students to
answer.
Emphasis (Say): The things that I had presented show the connection between heat, power and energy
and they are all related to each other. But now it is up to you how to put the knowledge you have
learned today to use by reflecting towards yourself how you could possible lessen your energy
consumption.
● Ask: How can you persuade family members to practice energy conservation by creating
an energy conservation action plan.
Strategy: The class will be divided into 4 groups. Each group will be provided with the corresponding
materials: Manila paper and marker, after 10 minutes the group will then select one student
representative, who will then explain to the class why they come with that plan..
● Summarize students’ answers and synthesize (Say): Along with understanding how
heat, power and energy works, it is also important to learn ways on how to conserve
energy to lessen your environmental effect. The threat of global warming and climate
change to our daily lives increases the longer we delay implementing meaningful
adjustments. Fossil fuel combustion results in enormous greenhouse gas emissions that
have the potential to deplete the ozone layer which results to numerous problem such as
heat waves, droughts, rising sea levels, unusual weather patterns, and a heightened
probability of natural disasters. And because of this I would like to end this class
discussion with a quote “Save energy to preserve the future”.
Assignment:
● Create an infographic about why is it important/necessary for us to conserve
energy.
Closure:
The teacher will conclude today's class by asking the class to share their KNK experience during
the class session, the students may answer verbally.
Exit Ticket: on a ¼ sheet of paper students will write down the importance of learning heat,
power and energy, all paper will then be submitted to the teacher.
