ACTIVE PASSIVE
Italy produces olive oil. Olive oil is produced by Italy.
Who? does What? My bike was stolen by
Someone stole my bike. someone.

1. The passive - present simple


am, is, are + past participle
Our homework is checked every week.
Spanish is taught in this school.
2. The passive - past simple
was, were + past participle
We were caught by the police.
The building was visited by many people.
* when we want to say who does something in the passive
we use BY.
- Change the active sentences into passive:

1. He wrote a book.
The book was written by him.
2. Someone cleans our house.
Our house is cleaned by someone.
3. The shop sells bread every day.
Bread is sold every day.
4. That man discovered a new forest.
The new forest was discovered by that man.
