At the end of the lesson, the learner should be able to:

2. Enumerate the different ways of food preservation
3. State the importance of food preservation.

Show pictures or real object of the following.

Preserved food like canned goods, processed meat and dried fish are in demand
depending on the needs and situation of the consumers. Food can spoil easily especially
if not properly stored. To make its life longer, we must apply food preservation
techniques. There are different ways to preserve food, these procedures or ways will be
taken up in this lesson.
3. Discussion:

The teacher discusses the different ways of preserving foods while sharing the slide about
the topics through power point presentation. (Presented through Video Lesson)

industries like fish trading, fish net
mending and processed fish.

Your father is a fisherman. One day, he had a good


catch but unfortunately not all was sold in the
market. You told your parents right away to
preserve the fishes by drying it to avoid wastage of
food. The family members helped in cleaning and
drying the fishes.
To make money out of the dried fishes or
daing, you and your mother decided to sell them in
front of your house and keep the rest for family’s
consumption. The table below showed the result of
your sales:
