Application
Contextualize your learning! Study the paragraph below and then do the activities that follow.

For education in today’s society, there are several ways to teach children. Technology is
constantly changing and being adapted to education programs in preschools and primary
schools. Children are learning with technology at a faster rate and learn how to operate
devices at much younger age. In the past, children have learned through physical teaching. By
using pencils, paper and whiteboards, teachers have been able to teach students, however
these materials are beginning to be replaced with modern technology. In the past, students
have used physical materials to be able to learn such subjects as Math and English. Now,
students use tablets or netbooks to learn each subject. Children are using these devices at a
younger age and traditional tools are slowly being replaced by such devices. This action has
parents and teachers wondering which options are better method for teaching.

Activity 1: Choose your stand on this matter. Write your points on banner below.

It is true that technology is constantly changing and children are learning how to use
this in such an early span of time. At such an early age, they learn things from what they
watch or see from the educational. Therefore, we can say that technology is a big help to
them in the early process of learning. Teaching students with the wide range of technology is
not bad after all however it should be used in a right way. Technology incorporates different
learning styles and it encourage active participation in the classroom. Teaching subjects like
Mathematics in the form of videos is difficult. For the students to understand it better, using
traditional way is a good process. In this way, teachers can teach step by step, and students
can ask which step is hard for them. In conclusion, technology in teaching is a great
assistance on giving the students what they need to learn.

Activity 2: Interview any student in your community, ask his/her stand regarding this matter.

The advent of technology is so much significant in this trying times. It became the
instrument to make new modality that can deliver the educational process even during the
distance learning span. We can see that it became one of the aids in supplementing academic
pedagogies. I see no harm but big importance in using technological ways in teaching young
children especially in this time of pandemic. There are lots of virtual activities and ways for
them to learn very engagingly. Only that they need to be vigilant in using it so it may be
utilized in a productive way.

In today's generation, technology has a big impact in everyone’s life, especially the
students, like me it’s like my book, it has all the things I wanted to know. But despite that, I
learned many things in traditional way, if you’re going to ask me, I liked more the traditional
way of teaching, teachers are still better than technology, they have different methods to give
you the knowledge you wanted and needed to know. I am proud to say that all the things I
achieved were from traditional way of teaching. Technology is just an assistant for everyone,
people shouldn't depend on it. Actually technology isn't good for kids, they should play and
enjoy life.
