Artifact
Title of Artifact: Group lesson plan
(Explain what you did to complete this assignment/artifact and how this artifact best
represents this particular)
● What did you learn about the use of instructional strategies?
This assignment helped me with professional learning by teaching me how to
behave in a classroom and how to interact with students while teaching a
lesson. It helped me get the idea of how it felt to be a teacher in front of a class,
but in a less professional environment while with my classmates. It gave me an
idea of how different students will react to lessons and different activities that I
give them throughout the year. It helped me learn how I would prepare for a
lesson later on in my teaching career.

● What did you learn about the appreciation for pedagogy as it relates to
classroom instruction?
I learned that everyone has a different way of teaching different lessons and
that everyone has a different style of teaching. All the people in my group
talked in different ways, tones, and styles throughout the lesson. I learned that
my style of teaching is a more instructional way by giving directions and telling
students what to do. I enjoyed walking around the classroom while teaching and
giving helpful hints to students and encouraging their learning.
● What did you learn about communication and collaboration?
I learned that everyone responds to communications differently. Some prefer not to
communicate at all while teaching or learning, or others like myself, prefer to voice
things out loud. I enjoy helping the students work through things verbally and
communicating struggles helps sometimes. I also learned that everyone communicates
differently. Some prefer to talk, some yell, and some don’t like to communicate. I strive
to have a classroom environment that accepts and accommodates all of these styles of
communication, as long as they are respectful.

Reflection:
(Explain what you gained from completing this assignment/artifact. Your artifact
should show what you learned from completing this assignment and how you might
use this information in your teaching future)
Three things we did well was knowing who was talking, taking charge, and
having well-planned out activities. We knew what our plan was and who was
talking at the moment. It worked out well and the lesson went smoothly.

Three things that could've gone better for us as a group were making sure we
rehearsed, making sure we prepared things to say, and making sure we are
acting appropriately towards who we are teaching, even though they are our
classmates. Making sure we had prepared things to say would have saved us
from the awkward silences and making sure we knew what was going on.
