Primary research task sheet…

You are required to conduct a survey with a sample size of at least ten people, asking them
the three questions listed in task one. Complete the other tasks on here which follow it and
place them on your website in the “Research” section. Call the document/information you
produce for this sheet your PRIMARY RESEARCH.

TASK ONE:
Question 1: Name an example of an animation or scene which has made you feel
HAPPY. Explain WHY it did.
An animation scene that made me happy is when in family guy, Peter Griffin sets up a trap
by placing a dollar on the floor and an anvil hidden in some trees so when somebody picks
up the dollar, the anvil falls on their head. Peter then fools for his own trap and picks up
the dollar and the anvil falls on his head. This scene made me happy as it is surreal and it is
unrealistic which is what animation should be like in my opinion.

Question 2: Name an example of an animation or scene which has made you feel SAD.
Explain WHY it did.
An animation scene that made me sad is when homer Simpsons when Homer Simpsons
mother leaves him and he sits in the dessert and looks at the night sky and waits for her
to return. This made me sad as the music and the shot of homer sat there waiting shows
that he cares for and misses his mother.

Question 3: Name an example of a piece of audio you feel really added to an animation. It
could be a sound effect, voice actor, ambience or music. (U5, LO1, AC1.2)
A voice actor that really adds to an animation is Harry Shearer. This is because he voices so
many different iconic characters in very different ways. His characters all had so many
different iconic catch phrases and character traits that are rememberable and funny.

Explain how you are going to ask these questions, how you will record the answers and
how you will represent them on your Weebly page.

TASK TWO:
Question 1: How are you going to ask these questions? (hint: methods of reaching
your audience)
I am going to reach out to my audience by creating a google forms and I will send it round
for people to complete the survey. I may also ask people in person and write down their
results on a word document.
Question 2: How will you record the answers?

I will create a document on my Weebly page with all of the questions and different results
from the google forms. I will put this in my animation research page.

Question 3: How will you interpret them and present this on your Weebly page?
I will place the questions and answers in the research section on my Weebly site. I will add
a scribed document with all the information in. I may also take screen grabs of some of
the different results I got.

TASK THREE:
When you’ve completed the survey, show evidence of it on Weebly. This could
include:
 screen grabs of the questions and results
 A URL/link to the survey.

TASK FOUR:

Write a short conclusion about what you’ve learnt from each question (maybe a common
pattern or trait?) and how the answers to each question might help you develop your
animation ideas.
