8th Annual Sports Meet – 2022

Loyola College of Arts and Science, Mettala conducted 8th annual sports on September
18,2022. Rev. Albert William SJ, Secretary welcomed the gathering. Mr.E. Sai Charan Tejaswi,
I.P.S, Superintendent of Police, Namakkal was the Chief Guest of ceremony.
While addressing the students, he says "Association with sport is important in Life". He
gave the importance of Physical and Mental Health. He says Physical health is Primary which
enable us to achieve great. Another, all potential skills depend on Mental Health and relives
stress. Calmness is key for any achievements. He asked all the students to pledge "Say No to
Drugs".

He also emphasized sportsmanship, Active participation, Rational understanding. Finally,

he ends with saying, Positive attitude and Life Skills can be achieved through sports. Sports
inculcate discipline so he urged all the students, take part at least one sport.

In the event, Rev.Dr. Alphonse Manickam SJ, Superior, Rev. Dr. Samuel Jeyaseelan SJ,
Principal, Vice Principals and other officials are participated.

During the events, the students were bubbling with joy, enthusiasm and curiosity
to get to know the championship of the annual sports meet 2022. The overall championship was
given to the Department of Computer Science, and the runner up to Department of Commerce.
Third place was secured by the department of BBA. Department of BCA won the 1st Place in
March Past and the cash prize. Department of Computer Science held in the second position.

In the end, Mr S Partiban, Industrialist, guest of honor who distributed the prizes. The
programme was over with us the vote of thanks given by Rev. Dr. Samuel Jeyaseelan SJ,
Principal. He thanked Mr. Andrew, Physical Director for his ability to conduct the sport meet
successfully.
