We use checklists at work to complete all our tasks


When you are at work you can say:
I have/ haven’t …
written a business proposal
replied to emails
made phone calls
prepared reports
attended/organized a meeting
Input 13.2A Just, already or yet?
Read the situations and write sentences with just, already, or yet.
1. After lunch you're going to see a friend at her office what's she says would you like
something to eat, I'm just going out?
You say: No, thank you. ______________________________ (have lunch)
2. Deep goes out. 5 minutes later, the phone rings and the caller says, ‘Can I speak to
Deep?’
You say: I'm sorry but ______________________________ (go out)
3. You're speaking during a team meeting. your colleague thinks you have finished and
starts to talk.
You say: Sandeep, wait a minute please. ______________________________ (not/
finish)
4. You plan to take your team's out for dinner tonight. You phoned and reserved a
table. Later your colleague asks, ‘Shall I phone to reserve a table?’
You say: No, it’s ok. ______________________________ (do it)
5. You know that a colleague of yours is looking for an apartment to live in. You think
she might have got one.

We use yet, already and just with ‘have,’ to show the status of actions

If you expect an action to be completed, you can ask:


Have you booked the hotel rooms yet?

If it’s not completed, but you to plan to do it, you can say:
I haven’t booked the hotel rooms yet.

To say you completed something before time, you can say:


I have booked the hotel rooms already.

To say an action was completed a short time ago, you can say:
I have just booked the hotel rooms.
