2. Sports Officiating
- There are 2 topics under the content of Grade 9 for the first quarter. Lifestyle and weight management,
as well as sports officiating. As I observed, the content standards and performance standards seem to
focus only on the first topic, and I don't see anything indicated there in relation to the second topic.
⚫ SUGGESTIONS
- I suggest that the 2 topics under the content of grade 9 for the first quarter should have separate
content standards and performance standards since the 2 topics have different areas to be tough on
learners.
The learner...
demonstrates understanding and mastery of the rules and regulations necessary to perform
efficient officiating of the different sports.

3. YES, It is possible to have a succesful teaching in learning process when it comes to the
availability of resources needed for the content and competency to be met.
With the help of the advancement of educational learning materials and facilities as well as the
formal use of technology, there have been many reliable sources of information used for teaching and
learning. Of course, when it comes to resources, the curriculum should consider the attainability of all
complex lessons and topics in relation to the age and possible economic status of all learners that will be
mandated to take the subject.
Curricula should start with surveys in order to assess the availability of resources needed.
Curricularists should maximize the use of questionaires via Google forms, etc. This will greatly assist in
identifying what needs to be revised, improved, or even ignored when designing curriculum. This will
also help in identifying effective learning materials to be suggested that will be provided to students for
free, like research-based modules and educational journals.
4. Curriculum Suggestion
1. Do a semi-research about indigenous games by going to far-flung areas where indigenous practices
are being strictly and actively preserved. Interview old-aged residents who can give the rules and
regulations of the games as well as the origin and symbols being used in detail.
2. Identify the safest traditional games that can be played in the school area, Implement it by group
following all the important factors in the research.
3. Provide questionaires to your classmates about their assessments for having to play indigenous
games.
Since I am a P.E. major, I would love to teach indigenous games because I tried it for the first time in
college in my Traditional Games Subject and it was fun. We were faced with the consequences of not
knowing the specific rules and regulations as well as the sacred meanings and symbols used. We were
trained to look for reliable sources of information so that we could validate the difference between
indigenous games and sports. I think that is one of the best realizations I had as a student. To value, to
preserve, and to be acuramtely aware of my indigenous origins.
