I. Bị động kép là gì?

- Mệnh đề bao gồm 2 động từ ở thể bị động

Ví dụ:
- People think that Anne is the most brilliant student in our class.
 Anne is thought to be the most brilliant student in our class.
 The bridge is scheduled to be demolished next month.
 The piece was initially expected to be played on the piano.
- Tuy nhiên trong một số trường hợp không nên sử dụng bị động kép
 Gây ra sự khó hiểu
Ví dụ:
Không nên: The survey was attempted to be carried out.
Nên: They attempted to carry out the survey.
II. Các loại bị động kép và cấu trúc.
1. Bị động kép trong cùng một mệnh đề. (Không quá phổ biến trong thi)
a. Trường hợp 1
- They broke into the house and stole some pictures.
 The house was broken into, and some pictures were stolen.
Cấu trúc: S + V1 + O1 and V2 +O2
 O1 be V1 and O2 be V2
b. Trường hợp 2
- They ordered the woman to be released.
 The woman was ordered to be released.
Cấu trúc: S + V1 + O + to be + V2
 O be V1 to be V2
2. Bị động kép xuất hiện ở các mệnh đề trong câu.
- Xác định thì của động từ đầu tiên.
S1 + V1 that S2 + V2
TH1:  It is V1 that S2 + V2
Ví dụ: They think that she works very hard.
 It is thought that she works very hard.
TH2:  S2 be V1 to V2
 She is thought to work very hard.
 Thì của be đầu tiên phụ thuộc vào V1
