Aspirin is a member of the salicylic acid structural class of NSAIDs. Like other NSAIDs, aspirin is
commonly prescribed for its antipyretic, analgesic, and anti-inflammatory effects.

acute aspirin toxicity - it can be highly toxic or even fatal with intentional or accidental overdose.

aspirin intolerance - aspirin intolerance syndrome is characterized by rhinitis and/or sinusitis, nasal
polyposis and asthma, with or without a history of adverse reactions, following aspirin ingestion.

rhinitis - irritation and inflammation of the mucous membrane inside the nose.

sinusitis – thick nasal mucus

hepatoxicity – liver damage bc of medications, overdoses

However, the risks of long-term aspirin use may be greater than the benefits if there are no signs of, or
risk factors for heart or blood vessel disease.

Aspirin is part of a well-established treatment plan for patients with a history of heart attack or stroke.

or auditory nerve and sometimes the vestibular system

nephro - is toxicity in the kidneys. It is a poisonous effect of some substances,


both toxic chemicals and medications, on kidney function. There are various
forms, and some drugs may affect kidney function in more than one way.
neuro - The term neurotoxicity refers to damage to the brain or peripheral
nervous system caused by exposure to natural or man-made toxic substances.

hypersensitivity - Hypersensitivity refers to undesirable reactions produced by the


normal immune system, including allergies and autoimmunity.
