Criterion D Formative & Summative

I. Project description: You will work alone or with a partner to prepare and present a body
system from the list provided below. Keep in mind most of the project will be done outside of
class, so make sure to select a partner that will be available to meet during other times. The
project will be divided into a formative visual aid in the form of a review handout and a
summative presentation via power point/slides. The following systems will be randomly
assigned once partners are chosen:

*The handouts and slide presentations will be used as studying aid for the midterm, so make sure that
all information presented is accurate*

II. Due date: February 21st, 2023. Presentations will start on this day in random order, so everyone
should be ready to present on the 21st. Both the review handout and slides must be submitted
in Managebac by 8 am this day under each corresponding task. Punctuality will impact
overall achievement level.

III. Requirements: This project will be done in two parts: A formative review handout for your fellow
classmates and a summative presentation. You MUST include the following information in BOTH
parts of your project:

1. Give an overall sense of the organization and function of the human body system assigned
to you. You MUST include the following:

• A detailed explanation of the organ system’s purpose.

• A detailed explanation of which organs make up the system.
• A detailed explanation of the function of these organs within the system.
• Diagrams and/or illustrations of the system (cite sources!) and make sure to include a
bibliography on both the review handout and power point/slides presentation.
• The relationship of this system to other body systems.
• A list and brief explanation of at least 2 medical problems/diseases that can be
associated with this body system.

2. Use at LEAST four sources (not including images/diagrams). Citation in APA format is
required. You MUST make sure everything is in your own words!

3. Presentation should be 10 minutes long.

The day of the presentation, you must provide each student a copy of your review handout, so
make sure you bring enough copies for all your classmates!

review handout and presentation. Make sure to review your information and know it by heart.
