Grade 6 - Unit 8: Sports and Games
A closer look 1: Vocabulary

1. Class description: 6th grade students - 20 students - A2 level, mixed gender


2. Time: 30 minutes
3. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students (Ss) will be able to:
- Remember the spelling, pronunciation and meaning of 8 words related to Sports Equipment: ball, sports shoes, boat,
skateboard, goggles, racket, skis, bicycle
- Use words related to Sports Equipment to talk about their favorite sport in 3 - 4 sentences
4. Assumed knowledge:
- Students have already learnt some words related to sports and games in Getting Started.
- Students have already known some verbs that can be used to make a sentence about sports and games: do, play, go
5. Anticipated problems and solutions:
- Teacher (T) may run out of time => Leave the short speech (in Freer Practice activity) as homework.
- In case the projector/laptop does not work => Handouts/ blackboard can be used instead.
