Project Description:
 The Supply chain Management (SCM)project DW & BI project for JNJ catered
specifically to the Medical Device and Diagnostics Department (MD & D). The MD & D
department consists of a Regional Planning Team (RPT) which looks after the planning
activities for 13 countries in the APAC region. Some of the common activities done by
this Regional Planning Team are:
• Planning for Demand Supply
• Forecasting
• Planning for Purchase orders
• Analysis for Planned VS Actual
MD & D also has a Regional Distribution Center (RDC) located in Singapore which acts as a
logistics hub for the complete APAC region. Therefore the above mentioned activities done by
RPT also act as vital inputs for the operations of the RDC.
The APAC region consists of 8 franchises of JNJ. RPT is responsible for doing planning
for 6 out of the 8 franchises.
The Reports and Dashboards designed in the SCM project are specifically targeted to
help the RPT to perform their planning activities with accuracy and ease. The purpose and
scope of the SCM phase 2 project is to create or modify the objects in RDW as specified in the
SoW.

processes, by focusing the S&OP discussions on important product portfolio, identifying the
inventory imbalances and opportunities for improvement and SLOB control. With RDC it is very

basis. The functional area covers sales and inventory. The Data from various branches are
integrated at the central repository of Head Office. The Data Warehouse resides on an ORACLE

is one of the oldest stone, blacktop, and concrete companies in the United States. To help its
sales and marketing representatives analyze the customer base and to eventually assess the
efficiency of its distribution network, Redland build a data warehouse that pulls data from file
systems and integrates it, utilizing Oracle 8i and Informatica ,Reprot Net are used to generate
reports such as quarterly revenue, total cost, item quantities and various levels of information
