SELF CARE

- Self-care includes everything related to staying physically healthy — including hygiene, nutrition,
and seeking medical care when needed. It’s all the steps an individual can take to manage
stressors in his or her life and take care of his or her own health and well-being.
- Self-care has been defined as the process of establishing behaviors to ensure holistic well-being
of oneself, to promote health, and to actively management of illness when it occurs.
- Caring of one self is a must because Self-care means taking the time to do things that help you
live well and improve both of your physical and mental health.
- Practicing self-care does not mean you are choosing yourself over your loved one. It means that
you are simply being mindful of your own needs, so you are better able to support the people
you care about. When you take care of yourself and are not stressed, you are better able to
meet the needs of others.

And right now, let us know the types of self-care, we have here 8 types of self- care , self-care in terms
of:

- Physical
- Emotional
- Social
- Spiritual
- Personal
- Space
- Financial
- Work

 PHYSICAL
- Activities you do that improve the well-being of your physical health. When we say Physical
health is it the condition of your body, taking into consideration everything from the absence of
disease to fitness level.
- Examples of activities that we can do to take care of our physical health, such as taking a walk
during lunch breaks, sleeping eight hours a day, staying hydrated, etc.
 EMOTIONAL
- Activities that help you connect, process, and reflect on a full range of emotions. Emotional
health is about how we think and feel.
- Examples of activities we might consider to take care of our emotional health such as seeing a
therapist, writing in a journal, creating art, playing music etc.
 SOCIAL
- Activities that nurture and deepens the relationships with people in your life. Social wellness
allows you to build healthy relationships with others.
- Examples of this are brunch with friends, going on a date, making time to call your mom
regularly, etc.
 SPIRITUAL
- Activities that nurture your spirit and allows you to think bigger than yourself. Spiritual self-care
does not have to be religious, although for some it is. Spiritual includes a purposeful life,
transcendence and actualization of different dimensions and capacities of human beings.
- Examples for this are having meditation, yoga, going to a place of worship, be in nature,
dedicate time for self-reflection, etc.
 PERSONAL
- Activities that we do deliberately in order to take care of our mental, emotional, and physical
health. It is the ability to take charge of your health by making conscious decisions to be healthy.
- For example, Dancing, draw some artworks, read book or Reflect to the things that you are
grateful for.
 SPACE
- Activities when creating space for self-care, what is really meant is creating or finding time in
your life for taking care of yourself.
- Activities you may consider to improve your self-care in terms of space. Do some indoor
activities, meditate, allow yourself not to use social media or do some indoor yoga exercises.
