An abdominal CT scan showed a large abscess in the right iliac fossa region with an inflamed and thickened appendix and walls of the terminal ileum and cecum. The abscess was surrounded by the stretched and inflamed terminal ileum. Multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes were also seen. The liver, spleen, pancreas, gallbladder, and kidneys appeared normal in size and density with no masses, cysts, or other abnormalities detected.

CT PELVI-ABDOMEN, Contiguous axial cuts were obtained
through the abdomen and pelvis with oral & IV contrast and revealed: The right iliac fossa region show well defined yet irregular outline thick wall 9 mm abscess formation measuring 6.8 x 5 cm with thickned inflamed wall of the terminal ileum measuring 4 mm on thickness with stretching of the ileum around the abscess with the terminal cecum inflamed thickened wall measuring 11 mm and on side of the abscess with ??quarry the appendix measuring 12 mm with fluid filled and enhancing wall and present on the prephery of the abscess Multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes of average size 1.4 x 0.6 cm The liver appears average in size displaying homogeneous parenchymal density. No evidences of intra-hepatic biliary radicals were detected. The spleen appears average in size displaying normal homogeneous CT density. No evidences of splenic masses or cysts were detected. The pancreas: appears average in size displaying normal CT density. No evidences of pncreatic masses or cysts were detected. The gall bladder appears average in size displaying normal wall enhancement. No evidences of intra-luminal calculi or masses were detected. Both kidneys appear average in size displaying normal function & parenchymal enhancement. No evidences of renal masses, stones, cysts or back pressure changes were detected. Prostate is average in size. Normal CT features of the bladder . No evidences of lymphadenopathy were detected. No ascites. Opinion Picture highly suggestive of appendicitis with abscess formation with inflamed terminal ileum and cecum with strethced terminal ileum encircling the abscess Thanks,
