CT PELVI-ABDOMEN, Contiguous axial cuts were obtained


through the abdomen and pelvis with oral & IV contrast and
revealed:
The right iliac fossa region show well defined yet irregular outline
thick wall 9 mm abscess formation measuring 6.8 x 5 cm with
thickned inflamed wall of the terminal ileum measuring 4 mm on
thickness with stretching of the ileum around the abscess with the
terminal cecum inflamed thickened wall measuring 11 mm and on
side of the abscess with ??quarry the appendix measuring 12 mm
with fluid filled and enhancing wall and present on the prephery
of the abscess
Multiple enlarged mesenteric lymph nodes of average size 1.4 x
0.6 cm
The liver appears average in size displaying homogeneous parenchymal
density. No evidences of intra-hepatic biliary radicals were detected.
The spleen appears average in size displaying normal homogeneous CT
density. No evidences of splenic masses or cysts were detected.
The pancreas: appears average in size displaying normal CT density. No
evidences of pncreatic masses or cysts were detected.
The gall bladder appears average in size displaying normal wall
enhancement. No evidences of intra-luminal calculi or masses were
detected.
Both kidneys appear average in size displaying normal function &
parenchymal enhancement. No evidences of renal masses, stones, cysts or
back pressure changes were detected.
Prostate is average in size.
Normal CT features of the bladder .
No evidences of lymphadenopathy were detected.
No ascites.
Opinion
Picture highly suggestive of appendicitis with abscess formation with
inflamed terminal ileum and cecum with strethced terminal ileum encircling
the abscess
