Personal Achievement

Description:

December 15th 2021, I posted a short, 18 second animation to twitter. I had a small community, and I
didn’t think it would reach anyone. I had posted a still image of the animation a while back but that had
only 70 likes at the time. However, 70 likes was the most I have ever gotten, and I was proud of it.
Originally, I had made the animation to try out Adobe After Effects. When I showed my friends, they
encouraged me to post it. Spontaneously, I listened to them and posted on my twitter account with less
care than most of my other posts. Currently, the post has 574 likes, 101 retweets, and 12048 total
interactions.

Personal Relevancy:

I have always wanted to be able to create digital art. I had a dream of mine as a kid because I saw more
people sharing their art on Instagram and Twitter. I also was proud when I was able to reach so many
people by achieving this dream. Never had I thought that a lot of people would like what I must share.

Skill Development:

With this project, I was able to try animation for the first-time using Adobe After Effects and Illustrator. I
was also able to practice promotion and learned the Twitter algorithm. I researched when there would
be more people online so I could promote it again. Also, how bigger artists would often post “artist
support” where smaller artists have a chance to promote their art. These help me reach more people
and get more recognition. I also learned the importance of connections. I was part of a group chat with
loads of artists. They were able to give me tips on how to use Twitter and even promoted my art. A lot of
them had over 1000 followers.

Self-Awareness:

I was able to create something the other people also like and now I have the ability to use social media
to reach other people. I can now share my interest with others. I also learned that I enjoy sharing
milestones with my friends. This was a big confidence boost and after, I started to put myself out there
more.

Future Connections:

I now have the skill of a graphic designer that can use adobe illustrator and aftereffects. Most tech
companies look for basic skill in Adobe which I now have. I also now know how use social media to
promote ideas and projects. Now I have a platform to interact with people from all over the world.
