Outdoor recreation refers to leisure activities done outside, usually in natural settings to benefit health

and mind to for the purpose of exercise, relaxation or pleasure. Outdoor recreation provides people
opportunities to enjoy natural areas and participate in recreational activities such as nature
appreciation, escape from daily routine, rest, and seek adventure. A lot of recreational activities can be
classified as sports, but they do not require for the individuals to be athletes but rather it available for
everyone to engage and partake in.

Recreational activities can be an outlet for people who are stressed, promote healthier and better life
style and improve overall physical and emotional health. It is said that recreational activities can reduce
depression, anxiety and improve self esteem. Recreational activities can also improve trust and
strengthen the relationship of groups of people as it can vary from being a team sport to a leisurely
relaxing activity. It can also be a way for individuals to socialize and hangout with other people. Engaging
in recreational activities outside the comfort of our homes can help us distress and find relief in fun and
exciting ways while having advantageous and beneficial effects physically, emotionally and mentally to
our body.
