C. Lesson Proper
The teacher will give the definition of:
Assertion-term generally used to refer to statements of fact, opinion, belief and prejudice.

I think bananas can keep corona virus away.

Filipinos became cautious of their health during the pandemic.
An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
Doctors are the smartest people on Earth.
Milk is good for your body.
After discussing the meaning of assertion, the teacher will now share the categories.

4. Some people keep dogs as pets.

4. I guess all people love dogs.
5. I think the deadliest variant of Covid is Omicron.
6. The covid 19 pandemic made people brave.
7. The Omicron surge all around the world is caused by travelers.

c. Commonplace Assertion - a stereotype, an oversimplification or a prejudice, which is a

half-baked opinion based on insufficient or unexamined evidence, but it presented as if it were
a fact. It is often accepted from others (families, friends, media etc.), making it too common to be
questioned about its truthfulness.

1. Sharks eat people.

2. An apple a day keeps the doctor away.
3. If you eat and them immediately go swimming, you will get stomach cramps.
4. All kids love recess.
5. If you pick up a penny that is heads up, you will have good luck.
