I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the 60-minute class discussion, the Grade-7 learners should have expressed one’s
beliefs/convictions based on the material viewed. (EN7VC-IV-g-16)
III. PROCEDURE
A. Activity
1. Preliminary Activity
* Prayer
* Greeting of the class
*Classroom cleanliness
*Checking of attendance
*Recapitulation of the previous lesson
2. Main Activity
* Divide the class into two
* Paste 4 pictures on the board.
* Then ask the students if what they are all about.
* The pictures were all about Filipino culture and beliefs.
* Give them 3 minutes to brainstorm and answer.
B. Analysis
1. How did you find the activity?
2. Do you think that beliefs or convictions are important?
3. What are some beliefs that you’ve known?
C. Abstraction
* Let the students read the story “The Universals” by Dr. Cleofe M. Bacungan on page 485 of the
book.
* Explain briefly each paragraph.
Generalization
Ask the students for the brief summary of “ The Universals”.
D. Application (Reporting)
* Still with the same group, let the students, let the students pick one task card.
* Tell them to open their book on page 483. They will answer the qustions on tack 3.
* Distribute materials for reporting
