I. OBJECTIVE:
At the end of the 60-minute class discussion, the Grade-7 learners should have distinguished between
general and specific statements. (EN7RC-IV-d-10.2)
III. PROCEDURE
A. Activity
1. Preliminary Activity
* Prayer
* Greeting of the class
*Classroom cleanliness
*Checking of attendance
*Recapitulation of the previous lesson
2. Main Activity
* Present two pictures that have a general and specific details (picture of flower in a vase and
flower alone).
* Then ask students questions such as:
How will you describe the pictures?
Is there a difference between the two pictures? If so, can you give me one?
What do these pictures suggest?
B. Analysis
1. How did you find the activity?
2. What comes into your mind when we said specific? How about general?
3. Can you give me a simple word that presents a specific or general statement.
C. Abstraction
* Define what is a specific statement and a general statement. Give examples in each kind.
* Discuss the difference between soecific and general stateement.
* Present brief guidelines on how to construct a general and specific statement.
Generalization
Ask someone from the class to differentiate a specific to general statement. Then, let him or her
give examples.
D. Application
* Group the students into two
* Distribute a paper to each group to be answered with.
*And let them identify the missing general or specific statement or word.
IV. EVALUATION/ASSESSMENT:
Direction: In your notebook, write G if the statement provides general details and S if it provides
specific details.

V. ASSIGNMENT/AGREEMENT:
Read and study about wh questions and how to formulate these questions.
