Read the attached link. What are the roles of the following characters if a face to face learning
modality will be pursued?

The following characters play a vital role in a child’s education. With this, these three characters should
work collaboratively to give the education that every child deserves. I believe each of these has its
primary role for face-to-face learning because it is the basic support system to navigate knowledge in
each person. To lift learners, each needs to engage as the key for particular enrichment aspects in the
transformation. It is possible to recognize outstanding efforts if these three work out as a team; they can
move forward quickly in a positive environment where we can be all teachers and learners.

Below are the responsibilities of some stakeholders if ever the face-to-face learning is pursued:

1. School- Schools are in charge of environmental monitoring, particularly in the classroom. With the
help of the teachers and other personnel, the school principal should keep a close eye on the students’
social distance, proper screening health checks, regular disinfection, and look for more effective
practices to give sufficient learning to the students. With the help of concerned DepEd offices, the
school without a clinic should establish one to provide essential health services to students, teachers,
staff, and visitors as needed. The school clinic is responsible for ensuring the availability of Emergency
Health Kits, which comprise personal protective equipment (PPE) and other necessary supplies and
materials. Moreover, the school should conduct an orientation to properly inform the students,
parents, and community about the guidelines given by the DepEd. Furthermore, while adhering to the
health and safety protocol, teachers should make the most of all available resource materials and
maximize learners’ participation, cooperation, and socialization time. As stated in the guideline, one of
the school responsibilities also is to coordinate with the BHERT and LGU for referral system, contact
tracing, school traffic management, school lockdown, and others.

2. Parents- They are responsible for supporting the NGO, LGU, and school’s plan; they have to be
engaged and knowledgeable to make the plan work and help implement the health protocols by guiding
the learners about the do’s and don’ts. In addition, parents should establish emotional support to their
child to boost their motivation to attend school despite the rapid transition of the learning modality
since we all know that it is limited in this coming face-to-face class. Therefore, parents should help the
teacher teach or guide their children in their respective homes. Because I think that is the only way to
help a child adjust to the new modality since most of the learners are now getting used to online
learning. With that, it could give students a hard time for another adjustment. That is why parents
should be hands-on with their child’s education, given the situation we are currently facing.

3. Community- The partner community and the LGU should work together for the pilot testing of
reopening the schools. LGU should formulate local ordinances for managing the traffic during the school
days. With this, according to the guidelines, LGU should consider rerouting when necessary. In addition,
both the LGU and community should work hand in hand to ensure the availability of medical personnel
and standby vehicle whenever there is an emergency. Moreover, the local government unit should
ensure to observe measures for the sake of the safety of the learners and other school personnel and
the proper dissemination system that updates the students, parents, schools staff regarding the
evolving situations and measures in the event of COVID-19
