score of each group and which group performed better?

10. A group of 5 boys scored 51, 53, 34, 33, and 49 marks for a test out of a total of 60 marks. The
ratio for the average 5 boys to 5 girls is 11: 7 Find the total of the girls scored?
Answer Key
1200 m + 400 m + 2600 m+3020
1. Average mass =
4
6 860 m
=
4
= 1 715 m

2. Total score of Renata and Joy :

83 x 2 = 166 marks

J
166 marks
R
? 6 marks
166 – 6 = 160 marks
2 units = 160 marks
1 unit = 80 marks

Joy’s score is 80 + 6 = 86 marks

3. Total height of Bensy, Dento, and Reyno :

175 cm x 3 = 525 cm

D 525 cm
? 10 cm

R 15 cm

525 – (10+15)= 500 cm

3 units = 500 cm
1 unit = 166.67 cm

Dento’s Height is 166.67 + 15 = 181.67 cm

4. Total mass of 5 adults :

66.4 kg x 5 = 332 kg

Total mass from the question given :

63 kg x 2 + 58 kg + 70 kg = 254 kg
The mass of the fifth adult:
332 kg – 254 kg = 78 kg

200 ml+ 275 ml + 350 ml + 425 ml

5. Average volume of 4 bottle of chocolates =
4
1 250 𝑚𝑙
=
4
= 312. 5 ml
The difference :
312.5 ml – 200 ml = 112.5 ml

2 m,+ 3.2 m + 4.5 m,+ 4.7 m+ 5 m

6. Average length of 5 ribbon =
5
19.4 𝑚
=
5
= 3.88 m
The difference :
5 m - 3.88 m = 1.12 m = 112 cm

7. Total people read the storybooks in the first week:

200 x 2 = 400 people

Total people read the storybooks in the second and third week:
25
x 400 x 2 weeks = 200 people
100

Total people read in the first – third week :

400 + 200 = 600 people

600 people
Average number of Visitors per month = 3 𝑤𝑒𝑒𝑘𝑠
= 200 people / week
8. Total people visited in Feb and March :
8965 x 2 = 17 930 people

Total people visited in May :

2
x 17 930 = 7 172 people
5
Total people visited February – May :
17 930 + 3826 + 7 172 = 28 928 people

28 928 people
Average number of Visitors per month = 4 𝑚𝑜𝑛𝑡ℎ𝑠
= 7 232 people / month
50+35+54+44+47
9. Average scored of 5 girls =
5
230
=
5

= 46 marks
51+ 53+34+ 33+ 47+50
Average scored of boys =
6
268
=
6

= 44.67 marks
The group of girls performed better (46 marks)

51+ 53+34+ 33+ 49

10. Average scored of 5 boys = 5
220
= 5
= 44 marks
11 units = 44 marks
1 unit = 4 marks
7 units = 28 marks ( Average of 5 girls )

Total scored of 5 girls = 28 x 5

= 140 marks
