    -It is the main part of the engine inside which piston reciprocates

    -This chamber is where the ignition happens

    Terminology
    ▪ Cylinder bore- The nominal inner diameter of the working cylinder
    ▪ Piston area-The area of circle of diameter equal to the cylinder bore
    ▪ Dead center-The position of the working piston and the moving parts which
    are mechanically connected to it at the moment when the direction of the
    piston motion is reversed
    ▪ Top dead Center(TDC)-Dead center when the piston is nearest to the
    crankshaft.
    ▪ Bottom dead Center(BDC)-Dead center when the position is farthest from
    the crankshaft.
    ▪  Stroke- The maximum distance travelled by the piston in the cylinder in
    one direction.
    ▪ Total volume of cylinder- It is the volume of cylinder when the piston is at
    bottom dead center. 
    ▪  Clearance volume of cylinder -the nominal volume of the space on the
    combustion side of the piston at the top dead center
    ▪ Swept or displace volume -The difference between total volume and
    clearance volume 
    ▪ Compression ratio-The ratio of maximum volume to minimum volume of
    cylinder
    ▪ Stroke bore ratio- the ratio of diameter of cylinder to length of stroke.
    ▪ Mean effective pressure-The average pressure acting upon the piston
    ▪ Mean piston speed-the distance traveled by the piston per unit of time
