This document discusses a student project to investigate how the density of various liquids affects the physical state of water. Key points:
- The project will examine how water interacts with other liquids of different densities through a series of experiments building "liquid towers" of layered liquids.
- Density is defined as the relationship between an object's weight and volume, and determines whether it will float or sink in water.
- The experiments will test how changing the order of liquids with different densities (such as honey, oil, alcohol, water) affects the structure of the liquid towers.
- The students hypothesize that a mixture of ketchup and mayonnaise would be denser than honey.

In this project we want to know about the chemical
change that is produced by mixing water with other liquids and how the density affects the physical state of water. What is a Chemical Change?
A chemical change is a change of materials into another,
new materials with different properties and one or more than one new substances are formed.
What is a physical change?
A physical change is any change in the size, shape or state
of matter Density Density is one of the most important physical factors. Density gives us the relationship between the weight and the volume that a body occupies. If an object is more dense than water it will sink when placed in water, and if it is less dense than water it will float. DENSITY OF THE LIQUID water 997 kg/m3 oil 920 kg/m3 alcohol 789 kg/m³ liquid soap 1200kg/m³. Honey 1 409 kg /m³ Hypothesis
If we mix catsup with mayonnaise it would be more
dense than the honey.
The order of the liquids will be very important due to the
ingredients that each one contains. Questions
How does water work with density?
What happens if we change the order of the liquids?
What happens if we mix them all up?
Why does honey go to the bottom?
EXPERIMENTS
1: Liquid tower.
2: Liquid tower with ketchup and mayonnaise.
3: Liquid tower with different orders so we can test
them. Materials
long transparent container.
honey bee. Water. alcohol. Edible oil. liquid soap. Ketchup. Mayonnaise. Colorant. Steps Step 1: Have all the ingredients. Step 2: We need colorants for the water and the alcohol. Step 3: The liquids that is denser is the one that we are gonna put first. Step 4: The one that has a less density is gonna go on the top of the tower Step 5: It´s important to put the liquids in the order of density so we can get better colors of the tower.
