▪ The teacher will give a handout of Paper 1 that it will be discussed in the class.
● The teacher will ask the the students to use the skimming theory they learned before
to get information.
● The teacher will ask each topic of the paragraphs in the text
● The students will answer what the teacher asks and discuss the topic of each
paragraphwith their friends (COLLABORATIVE – CRITICAL THINKING) the
story. The students will be able to view and watch the teacher as she fills it out.
● The teacher will choose one by one of the students todiscuss each paragraph of the
text
● The students will explain the topic of each paragraph
● The teacher will give underline all the important information obtained that it will be a
summary
● The teacher will gather all the important information obtained and ask the students to
make a summary just by using the important information
● The teacher will limit the summary with an amout of the words

● The teacher will give an assignment to do 5 HOTS questions based on the text given.

C. Closure:
▪ The teacher will ask the students to discuss the reflection of the day in the class
with their friends organized into small groups (COLLABORATIVE –
COMMUNICATION)
▪ The teacher will ask the students what they’ve learned
▪ Teacher is conducting reflection to relate to the real life world
“What have we learnt today?”
“How can we make use summarizing skill into our daily life?”, etc

The evaluation is conducted by using ESL Cambridge standard (attached) and national
standard as based on the 2013 national curriculum.

4.Always use paraphrase when writing a summary. If you do copy a phrase from
the original be sure it is a very important phrase that is necessary and cannot be
paraphrased. In this case put "quotation marks" around the phrase.
5.Target your first draft for approximately 1/4 the length of the original.
1.Start your summary with a clear identification of the type of work, title, author,
and main point in the present tense.
Example: In the feature article "Four Kinds of Reading," the author, Donald Hall,
explains his opinion about different types of reading.
2.Check with your outline and your original to make sure you have covered the
important points.
3.Never put any of your own ideas, opinions, or interpretations into the summary.
This means you have to be very careful of your word choice.
4. Write using "summarizing language." Periodically remind your reader that this
is a summary by using phrases such as the article claims, the author suggests, etc.
