Cloud Computing Research

1) What is Cloud Service Provides?

A CSP or more commonly known cloud service provider, is a third-party company that provides
scalable computing services that businesses can access on demand over a stable internet
connection. As technology becomes more used in the business world it offers flexibility and
security to demand that the business requires without worrying about the physical limitations of
the on-premises servers or investing a lot of resources into building out and maintaining an in-
house data center.
2) What is Platform as a Service (PaaS)?
One of the main cloud service providers is Platform as a service which is a cloud computing
model where a third party provides hardware and software tools to users over the internet. For
example, Facebook is an example of PaaS by developers creating applications such as
Messenger, or the most popular application Facebook Marketplace.
3) What are two benefits of PaaS?
PaaS benefits is that users can access anywhere through a web browser the ability to pay on a
recurring subscription(s) which eliminates the expenses of the on-premises hardware and
software. Another benefit of having Paas can enable development teams to collaborate as a team,
regardless of their physical location.
4) What is one disadvantage of PaaS?
One of the main disadvantages of having PaaS is that if for some circumstances the third party
that is providing the services experiences a service outage it can affect the customers in resulting
a costly lapse of productivity.
