Activities 2 Finals the Medium of Music

1. Music - Music is the art of organizing sounds in time using melodic, harmonic,
rhythmic, and timbral aspects. It is a cultural characteristic of all human
communities that is universal. Pitch, rhythm, dynamics, and the acoustic
aspects of timbre and texture are all included in general definitions of music.

2. Pitch - Pitch is a perceptual attribute of sounds that allows them to be ordered

on a frequency-related scale, or, to put it another way, pitch is the quality that
allows humans to judge sounds as "higher" or "lower" in the sense of musical
melodies.

3. Duration - Duration in music refers to the length of time a note, phrase,

section, or piece lasts. "Duration is the time it takes for a pitch, or tone, to be
heard." A note can last as little as a second, while a symphony can span more
than an hour.

4. Volume - the degree of loudness or the intensity of a sound

5. Vocal Register - A vocal register is a set of tones created by the vibratory

pattern of the vocal folds in the human voice. Modal voice (or normal voice),
vocal fry, falsetto, and the whistle register are among these registers. The
laryngeal function is where registers begin.

6. String Instruments - String instruments, often known as stringed instruments

or chordophones, are musical instruments with vibrating strings that make
sound when a person plays or sounds them in some way.

7. Woodwind Instruments - Woodwind instruments are a type of musical

instrument that falls under the umbrella of wind instruments. Flute, clarinet,
oboe, bassoon, and saxophone are common examples. Flute and reed
instruments are the two basic categories of woodwind instruments.

8. Percussion Instruments - A percussion instrument is a musical instrument

with connected or enclosed beaters or rattles that are pounded, scraped, or
rubbed by hand or struck against another similar instrument to produce sound.
The percussion family is said to include the oldest musical instruments,
excluding zoomusicological instruments and the human voice.
