Almhira: A 23-year-old man suspected of using the Facebook accounts of some relatives of a
top-ranking Philippine National Police (PNP) officer to solicit money from their social media
friends fell in an entrapment operation on Friday evening.

According to the victim, alias Maria, the incident began around August 2022 after an unidentified
assailant/s stole the family’s tablet and other belongings from their home. The suspect used the
3 accounts logged in the tablet.

Maria explained that the suspect would ask for around P100-P300 from friends and family
members. While the amount is small, Maria explained the suspect targeted nearly everyone on
their accounts.

Police apprehended the suspect at a money remittance outlet after the victim's mother told her
the account again asked for money.
According to Guillermo, another person, who is still at large, is possibly involved in the same
modus.

They're still trying to get the defense of the suspect, who will possibly face charges for illegal
access and identity theft. The suspect may also face the complaint of robbery or theft if proven
that they were the ones who stole the tablet from the residence of the victims.

Guillermo also warned the public that there is a big possibility that similar cases will become
more rampant once Republic Act 11934 or the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Registration
Act is implemented. Thus, the anti-cybercrime officer advises the public to never save their
passwords on their gadgets and to always log out.

Marianne: Families should ensure everyone in their household gets vaccinated against the flu,
a pediatrician group urged Friday as a triple-whammy of respiratory viruses continued to slam
children’s hospitals.

The Canadian Pediatric Society said the advice was even more urgent for families with young
kids, as influenza is spreading rapidly, along with surges of COVID-19 and respiratory syncytial
virus.

Children under the age of five and those with chronic health conditions are more likely to need
hospitalization if they catch the flu, the organization said.

Dr. Kevin Chan, chair of CPS’ acute care committee, says parents and caregivers should turn to
their family doctor or local public health unit to find out where they can book their age-
appropriate shots.

Earlier this week, public health officials reported the start of a flu epidemic, with levels of
influenza higher than in previous years. With COVID-19 in the mix, parents of little kids may be
faced with a decision on which vaccines to prioritize, Chan acknowledged.

Federal data shows 7.3 percent of children four and under have received one dose of a COVID-
19 vaccine, and only 2.4 per cent of children in that age group have their primary series
completed.

While adults and kids aged five or older can get the COVID-19 and flu shots at the same time,
the National Advisory Committee on Immunization recommends that for kids aged six months to
five years old, the COVID-19 vaccine should be spaced out from other vaccines by two weeks.
This recommendation is “out of an abundance of caution to track side effects more easily,” per
the Hamilton Health Sciences website.

Kea: Carlos Yulo settled for a runner-up finish in the men's vault final at the 51st FIG Artistic
Gymnastics World Championships held in Liverpool on Sunday.
Yulo relinquished his reign as world champion in the apparatus as Armanian Artur Davtyan
leapfrogged over Yulo with flawless execution in his vaults.

The Filipino was the early leader with a 14.950 average as he scored 15.000 and 14.900 in his
first and second vault, respectively.Yulo was handed a 0.100 penalty in his first vault which was
6.000 in difficulty.

With two gymnasts to go, Yulo was still in the lead. But Davtyan scored 9.500 in execution for
both of his vaults to overtake Yulo.

Davtyan, who was the top qualifier heading into the final, emerged victorious over Yulo despite
having a .400 deficit in difficulty in his first vault.Davtyan performed two vaults with 5.600
difficulty.

Completing the podium is Ukraine's Igor Radivilov, who scored an average of 14.733.Yulo has a
chance to clinch a gold medal when he competes in the men's parallel bars final this afternoon
(late Sunday night, Manila time).

each other," she added.

According to Vicki, "if you watch the Vicki Belo vlog, you will see that Alex and I were just
kidding and joking around."
