ASSESSMENT GUIDELINE

A. GROUP ASSIGNMENT 1 –Report on mini project (10%)


Write a summary report of your proposed business and the business regulations. Your report must include
all elements as outlined below.

1. Introduction to your proposed business


(Explanation of the type of business/product or service offered/uniqueness)
2. Competition level
(Customers and demand/competitors and their strengths and weaknesses/marketing activities that will
be implemented)
3. Financial capacity
(How much money is needed, and how to finance your proposed business)
4. The legal business entity of your proposed business
(Reasons for selection, procedures to register)
5. License, permits and letters of authority
(Identify the authorization needed for your proposed business)
6. Reflections
What have you learnt from the process?

Assignment format:
Tahoma 11, 1.5 lines spacing, 2000-3000 words. Submit your report by Week 5, Friday at
smartv3.ums.edu.my. Report must be submitted in Words format.

B. FIELDWORK REPORT (10%)


Students are required to conduct a fieldwork and write a report about it. Collect relevant information
from the market and business environment to strengthen their business plans.

Your report must include the following elements:

1. Introduction
2. Methods used in collecting data
3. Findings
4. Conclusion
5. Evidence of the fieldwork

Assignment format:
Tahoma 11, 1.5 lines spacing, 2000-3000 words. Submit your report by Week 10, Friday at
smartv3.ums.edu.my. Report must be submitted in Words format.
C. BUSINESS PLAN PROJECT (20%)
Develop a business proposal based on a viable business idea.

The proposal must include the following elements:

1. Cover page and Table of Contents


2. Executive Summary
3. Organisation plan
4. Marketing plan
5. Operational plan
6. Financial Plan
7. Appendices

The business proposal must be typed, 11pt, 1.5 lines spacing, 25-30 pages. Submit your report by
Week 14, Friday at smartv3.ums.edu.my. Report must be submitted in Words format.

D. PRESENTATION (10%)
Students have to make a presentation of their business proposal.
