Louisian Sports Meet 2022-23

General Rules for sports:

 The Annual Sports day will be held on Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th of
November.
 Participation for all the sports and games is open only for St. Louis Parishioners
 The 13 sectors of the parish are free to form their own teams.
 All the sectors should submit their teams latest by Monday, 7th of November in the
Parish Office.
 Entries or changes in registration form will not be entertained after 7th November.
(In case of any change or addition of new names kindly contact the youth of your sector)
 MANDATORY: Team Captain Name and Number has to be provided for Basketball,
Football, Throwball and Volleyball. For Table Tennis, Carrom and chess all players phone
numbers are to be provided
 No combined sectors are allowed.
 All the Councilors and Link persons are requested to take interest in forming teams for
all of the Sports.
 For Outdoor sports (Basketball, Volleyball, Throwball, Football)
- Losing Semi-finalists of all events get 3 points for their sectors, losing finalists get 5
points and the winners get 7 points.
Indoor sports (Table tennis, Carrom, Chess, Snake and ladder, Ludo)
- Losing Semi-finalists of all events get 1 point for their sectors, losing finalists get 2
points and the winners get 3 points.
Telegames (kids and senior citizen)
- losing finalists get 1 point and the winners get 2 points.
 Prize distribution for all the events and the overall Championship will be held at the end
of the Sports Day.
 Parish Priest decision will be binding on any argument or objection raised during the
course of the event.
 Parishioners are welcome to sponsor any of the Games Materials.
1. Basketball: Sunday 13th November (10.45 am onwards)

Players: Both Men and Women


Number of players allowed on court: 4 Men and 1 Woman
Number of players allowed in the squad: 8 Players
Time duration: 10 minutes per game (5 minutes for each half)
Format: League stage from which the top 2 teams of each group qualify for the Semifinals (Knock-out). A
win earns a team 3 points, a draw 1 point and no points are awarded for a loss (for the league rounds).
Rules:
 Every shot made from open play is 2 Pts, Free shot carries 1 pt.
 Every violent foul committed results in 2 Free Shots. If a player accumulates more than 5
Personal fouls in a game, he/she will sit out for the remaining part of the game.
 Rolling substitutions are allowed during the game by informing the referee.
 Criteria for qualifying for semi- finals: Top 2 teams of the pool will be qualified, if there’s a tie in
points of the top 2 teams then the goal difference will be counted.

2. Volleyball: Sunday 13th November (10.45 am onwards)

Players: Only Men


Number of players allowed on court: 6 Players
Number of players allowed in the squad: 8 Players
Format: League stage from which the top 2 teams of each group qualify for the Semifinals (Knock-out). A
win earns a team 3 points and no points are awarded for a loss (for the league rounds).
Rules:
 Rolling substitutions are allowed during the game by informing the referee.
 Each game will be a best of 3 sets and each set is of 15 Points.
 Rolling points are awarded during the game.
 Consecutive serves are not allowed by the same player after service break.
 Criteria for qualifying semi finals: Top 2 teams of the pool will be qualified, if there’s a tie in
points of the top 2 teams then set difference will be counted and then point difference.

3. Throwball: Sunday 13th November (10.45 am onwards)

Players: Only Women


Number of players allowed on court: 6 Players
Number of players allowed in the squad: 8 Players
Format: League stage from which the top 2 teams of each group qualify for the Semifinals (Knock-
out). A win earns a team 3 points and no points are awarded for a loss. (on league rounds).
Rules:
 Rolling substitutions are allowed during the game by informing the referee.
 Each game will be a best of 3 sets and each set is of 15 Points.
 Only Service points are awarded during the game.
 Consecutive serves are not allowed after service break.
 Shifting of the ball is not allowed.
 Jump throws are allowed.
 Only one hand throws are allowed.
 Criteria for qualifying semi finals: Top 2 teams of the pool will be qualified, if there’s a tie in
points of the top 2 teams then set difference will be counted and then point difference.

4. Football: Saturday 12th November (9:30am onwards)

Players: Only Men


Number of players allowed on the field: 5 Players
Number of players allowed in the squad: 8 Players
Time duration: 20 minutes per game (9 minutes for each half with a 2 min HT)
Format: League stage from which the top 2 teams of each group qualify for the Semifinals (Knock-out). A
win earns a team 3 points, a draw 1 point and no points are awarded for a loss.
Rules:
 Rolling substitutions are allowed during the game by informing the referee.
 No throw in. Outside kick to be taken.
 No height restrictions
 Goalie is allowed to use his hand but cannot catch the ball.
 Corners will be kicks.
 Rough tackles results in being sent out of the game for a minute.
 For Knock-outs if teams are tied, each side will get 3 kicks. If still tied, then penalty kicks move to
sudden death.
 Criteria for qualifying semi- finals: Top 2 teams of the pool will be qualified, if there’s a tie in
points of the top 2 teams then the goal difference will be counted.

5. Table Tennis: Saturday 12th November (2 pm onwards)

Players: Both Men and Women


Age Group: 11th STD and above
Number of players per sector: 4 Players
Format: knockout
Rules:
 Best of 3 sets. Each set is of 11 points.
 Rolling points are awarded during the game
 All games are singles

6. Carrom: Saturday 12th November (2 pm onwards)

Players: Both Men and Women


Age Group: 11th STD and above
Number of players per sector: 2 Pairs i.e 4 players per sector
Format: knockout
Rules:
 Best of 3 boards.
 All games are doubles
 One board – 10mins game

7. Rapid Chess: Saturday 12th November (2 pm onwards)

Players: Both Men and Women


Age Group: Open to all
Number of players per sector: 2 players
Format: knockout
Rules:
 One board – 20 mins
 30 secs move
 Points will be counted as follows (cut coins)
- back row coins 2 points
- front row 1 point
8. Snake and Ladder: Saturday 12th November (2 pm onwards)

Players: Both Boys and Girls


Age Group: : 1st to 3rd STD, 4th to 6th STD , 7th to 10th STD
Number of players per sector: 6 players (per age group 2)
Format: knockout
Rules:
 Each player will play Individually
 One game – 20 mins

9. Ludo: Saturday 12th November (2 pm onwards)

Players: Both Boys and Girls


Age Group: 1st to 10th STD
Number of players per sector: 3 players max - 1 team per sector
Format: knockout
Rules:
 Players will play as 1 team
 One game – 20 mins

10. Telegames : Saturday 12th November (4 pm onwards)

Players: Both Boys and Girls


Age Group: 1st to 3rd STD, 4th to 6th STD , 7th to 10th STD , 50 years and above.
Number of players per sector: Maximum 10 for each age group
Format: knockout
Rules:
 All games are singles.
