DASSA Cricket League Rules

1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 10. 11. 12. 13. 14. 15. The league is to be played in term 3. Each team will consist of 9 players. Players must be under the age at September 1st to be eligible to play in that age division. Players are only able to play in one age group. Games will consist of 2 innings with a maximum of 15 overs each. Matches will be played with a taped tennis ball, no variations. A bowler can bowl a maximum of 3 overs. Each over will be bowled from the same end, the batsmen change at the completion of the over. Wides and No balls will count for 2 runs and not re-bowled other than the last over where they count for 1 run and re bowled. No ball will be called for balls that bounce more than twice or passes above the batsmans waist. Batsman will retire at 40 and can resume their innings if all remaining batters are dismissed. The playing area will be clearly defined before the match starts e.g. where is the boundaries for 4s and 6s. Any team found to be displaying un-sportsman like behaviour will first be given a warning by the umpire and a second offence they will be docked 5 runs. Apart from above normal cricket rules apply. - Drawn Match (Equal Runs) 15 PTS - Lost Match Bonus Points; - Bowling 1 point for every wicket taken - Batting 1 point for every 10 runs scored starting at 40, last bonus point available on reaching 100 runs. Example, Lost game but scored 90 runs (6 PTS), and took 5 wickets (5 PTS) Total PTS = 11. 16. 17. 18. 19. The last league match to be played by Wednesday 16th May, games can start from week beginning 17th March 2013. At U12 level, the top team from each pool will play the runner up from the other pool (with home advantage for the top ranked team). At U14 level, the top team from the three pools will play each other in a round robin to decide the overall winner. The second place teams in each pool will also play off against each other. The school that wins the match is responsible to email the result (including runs scored & wickets taken) to Mark Barrington (DC) with the opposition teacher copied into the email.
