CHECKLIST FOR
A COMMUNITY
PARK

1.INVENTORY EXISTING RECREATION


SITES FACILITIES
Determine recreation sites and facilities
that are available to community residents,
including the neighboring area of the site.

2. IDENTIFICATION OF IMPORTANT
NATURAL AND CULTURAL RESOURCES.
These include existing corridors, remnants,
wildlife habitat and wetlands.

3.IMPORTANT DISPLACEMENT OF
MAPS
Showing the location of existing and planned
parks and other amenities including natural
and cultural resources.

4. POPULATION INFORMATION
User's Characteristics and identity who are
usually around the site like students or adults
must be considered.

5. EXISTING COMMUNITY PLANS


Future developments of the local community
must be addressed and observed. May include
general plans of the government such as
transportation that may affect the park

6. ADOPT OUTDOOR RECREATION


INTEREST
Being aware of the public's interest toward a
certain trend that way we can utilize and
encourage the users to go out and use the park.

7. IMPORTANCE OF OPEN SPACE


Increased collaboration and creativity,
getting in touch with the nature and
surrounding area.

8. ACCESSIBLE FACILITES BETTER


DISTRIBUTED THROUGHOUT THE
COMMUNITY.
Public spaces and facilities physically accessible for
people with disabilities thus, more accessible for
people who may not have disabilities

9.PRESERVATION OF NATURAL, HERITAGE


AND CULTURAL CHARACTER AND FEATURES.
Community facilities enhance the lives of
residents in numerous ways. Parks provide green
space and room to move for people in crowded
city neighborhoods.

10. MAINTAINANCE OF PARK AND


OTHER AMNETIES.
Park maintenance involves all landscaping duties,
care of park structures and buildings, and repair
of park systems and equipment

11. MINIMIZING DISASTER RISK, CONFLICT


AND COMPETING INTEREST.
Adoption of zoning, land-use practices,
and building codes are needed

12. DIVERSITY OF OPPORTUNITIES,


SETTINGS AND EXPERIENCES
Brings thoughts, feelings, and cultural knowledge
that benefits decision making, marketing,
operations, culture-building, hiring, firing
