Animal Rescue and Welfare Application System
1. Introduction:
The growing interest for animal welfare has led to an upsurge in animal adoption. Although the
old-fashioned ways of adopting animals, like visiting shelters and pet stores, remain common, the
advancement of technology has enabled individuals to adopt animals in a more efficient and
convenient manner. The purpose of this project is to develop an application for animal welfare and
adoption that will connect animal lovers with shelters and rescues and make the adoption process
easier and more accessible.
The problems to be solved and the needs to be addressed by the proposed project are as follows:
Upsurge in Animal Neglect and Cruelty: The increased number of animal cruelty cases and
concern for animal welfare has created a need for a technology-based solution that can manage
these concerns effectively. The aim of this project is to develop an application that can serve as a
platform for animal rescue and protection. This application will offer a practical and effective way
to record instances of animal cruelty and track the progress of animal welfare organizations' rescue
operations.
Elimination of Animal Homelessness: This application can have a positive influence on the lives of
both animals and animal lovers by highlighting the value of adoption and reducing animal
homelessness.
Enhanced communication between Shelters and Animal Lovers: Users will be able to connect with
shelters and rescues through the app, making it easier for them to ask questions, express problems,
and monitor the progress of their adoption.
Therefore, the desire to address the rising instances of animal abuse and neglect, offer a more
practical and effective method for adopting animals, promote animal welfare, reduce animal
homelessness, and enhance communication between animal lovers and shelters, are the primary
needs of this project.
3. Project Description:
This project aims to solve the aforementioned problems with the aid of an application program that
will fulfill the following objectives:
To offer animal shelters and rescues a platform to display the pets that are available for adoption.
Users will be able to browse and learn more about the animals that are up for adoption, making it
easier for them to choose the ideal pet.
To offer instructional resources on animal care. In order to guarantee that adopted animals receive
the care they require to thrive in their new homes, the application will provide resources and
information about appropriate care, training, and nutrition for animals.
To provide a platform where people can report animal abuse and neglect. Through the app, users
can report cases of animal abuse or neglect. The reports will include details like the animal's
location, a description of the maltreatment, and, if any, pictures or videos of the abuse.
These are some of the objectives of the project that describe the nature of the project. But the
project is not limited to these objectives only. There are several other features of the project that
are directed towards overall animal welfare.
4. Action Plan:
The action plan for the development of the proposed project is divided into the following stages:
a. Gathering of the requirements: During this phase, stakeholders like animal shelters, rescues,
animal enthusiasts, and other pertinent groups are consulted to determine the application's
requirements. This phase will aid in making sure the application satisfies user requirements and
expectations.
b. Application Design: In this phase, a design is developed for the application, including wireframes,
mockups, and prototypes. The user-friendliness and aesthetic appeal of the application will be
enhanced through this step.
c. Application Development: In this phase, the development of the application is commenced. This
stage will entail writing code, testing functionality, and correcting issues.
d. Testing: This phase involves the testing of the application to make sure it performs as intended and
complies with the specifications.
e. Deployment: The application will be launched and made accessible to users during this stage. This
stage will also include user training on how to utilize the application as well as ongoing support
and maintenance.
5. Expected Outcome:
