ADDRESSING LITERACY NEEDS ACTION PLAN

GRADE LEVEL 10 LITERACY STRATEGY Think-Aloud Strategy

By January 2023, (indicate the strategy and the impact the strategy will have; e.g.: By
January 2023, the implementation of the Word Wall strategy will result in a one grade level
increase in students’ vocabulary acquisition and use.)

SHORT-TERM GOAL The think-aloud strategy will be implemented across each discipline with content specific
checklists to ensure success. The strategy will be modeled and students will work each
week to use the strategy during an activity. Over time, students will become more
independent with their ability to think through a text, identify places where they don’t
understand and make connections.

Point of Concern:

Scheduling Edgenuity days for students who are in classes of different grades, making sure that they don’t do it
multiple days a week or not at all because of the way the schedule worked out. Could we schedule across the
building so that we make sure the kids have a day to work on this once a week?
