The Postgraduate Muslim Student Association at the University of Indonesia (HIMMPAS UI) is
again holding a Postgraduate Scientific School (SIP). This year, with the theme "Make Your
Perfect Scientific Research" SIP 2019 was attended by a total of 125 participants from various
disciplines and professions. This event took place for two days, September 27-28 2019, in two
different locations, the M Building Auditorium and G Building, Faculty of Administrative
Sciences, University of Indonesia. As a brief note, SIP is a series of scientific workshops
intended for postgraduate students, researchers, and all parties interested in the world of
research throughout Indonesia in order to prepare and improve their knowledge and abilities
related to scientific writing.

On the first day, the event started at 08.30 WIB and was officially opened by the Governor of
DKI Jakarta, Mr. Anies Rasyid Baswedan, Ph.D., who on this occasion was represented by his
expert staff, Mr. Muhammad Chozin Amrullah, S.Pi., MAIA. In his remarks he welcomed the
SIP activities and encouraged participants to continue to be enthusiastic about doing research
and suggested that research should not be carried out separately but in synergy with other
related research from various fields of science so that it could have broad impacts and
benefits.

The event continued with the launching of the Anthology of Works. The anthology, which
consists of 18 posts by HIMMPAS UI members from various disciplines, carries the title "Islam
Responds to the Challenges of the Industrial Revolution 4.0." The authors discuss the
phenomenon of the industrial revolution which has entered the 4.0 era. with all the
consequences from Islamic lens binoculars, ranging from science and technology to gender
and the environment. The launching was carried out by handing over the anthology books by
the coordinator of the authors symbolically to Mr. Chozin Amrullah, S.Pi., MAIA.

Entering the main event, the keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Ivandhini Tribidasari, S.Si., M.Si. submit
related scientific articles that are published. According to him, the success of publishing a
scientific article is determined by high originality, having a unique understanding (novelty),
and being comprehensive and written in communicative language. In addition, he also shared
information on how to choose the right journal to publish scientific articles.

Next, Dr. Warsito Purwo Taruno, S.Sc., M.Sc., a tomography expert physicist and inventor of a
cancer-killing device, in a sharing session shared what was interesting about being a
researcher. He enthusiastically explained that “Research is a principle, not a method.
Researchers must be able to look for principles in research. Look for a spectrum that can create
interaction between the researcher and the research. Research is a convolution of life.”

The first day of the program was closed with scientific presentation training which was filled
by Ahmad Hussein Alkaff, S.Sc., M.Sc. who won the 3rd Best Presenter award at the 5th
International Science Tournament 2014. He has also been noted to have published a number
of international scientific publications and been a speaker at several international scientific
conferences. On this occasion, the speakers shared tips and tricks with participants about
participating in international conferences and how to make simple and informative
presentations.

On the second day, participants were divided into three variants of science fields, namely
health, science and technology (scientific), and social-humanities (soshum). The event started
with training on the systematics of scientific journal writing and scientific publication
techniques. Material in the health sector was delivered by Prof. Dr. Yati Afyanti, S.Kp., M.N.,
in the field of science by Prof. Dr. ing. Misri Ghozan, M.Tech., IPM., and the field of social and
human affairs by Dr. Firia Angeliqa, M.Sc. In this session the presenters conveyed several
important points about scientific writing and publication such as how to effectively create
abstracts, analyze and interpret research data and tips on avoiding plagiarism and predatory
journals.

Next, the event continued with a Review Session. In this session three selected participants in
each field presented scientific articles that they had previously submitted. Furthermore, the
reviewers who are experts in each field responded to the entire presentation of the
participants which was accompanied by a question and answer session. The health reviewer
is Prof. Dr. Amarila Malik, M.Sc., Apt., Munawar Khalil, Ph.D., for science and technology
sector, and Permata Wulandari, Ph.D. in the social sector.

The second day of the event was closed by awarding the best paper for each field. Rizky Yulia
was awarded in the health sector, M. Roslan Abdul Gani in science and technology, and
Lu'liyatul Mutmainah in the social and human affairs field. Finally, the participants,
presenters, and committee celebrated the end of the event by taking a group photo.(suhail)
