NICE JOB, EVERYBODY

GOOD MORNING Today’s topic iS ABOUT THE HOLI(JÓLI) FÉSTIVAL IN

ÍNDIA
I CHOSE OPTION 3

WHAT IS THE TRADITION?

Holi is one of the most pÓpular Hindu(GÍNDU) festivals that celebrates spring, love,
and new life.

Some families hold rilígius céremonies, but for many Holi is more a time for fun. It's a
colourful festival, with dancing, singing and throwing of powder(PAUDER) paint and
coloured water.FOR THIS REASON, Holi is also known as the "festival of colours".

How is Holi celebrated?

I HAD NO IDEA THAT THE FESTIVAL IS HELD FOR A SHORT PERIOD/PÌRIIUD OF 2
DAYS
On the first night of Holi, , wood and dung pyres/DON PAIERS are burned to
symbolize( SÍMBOLAIZ)the triumph(TRAINF) of good over evil. Also , people light
bonfires and throw roasting grains/ROUSTING GREINS, popcorn, cóconut and
chickpeas/chikpis onto them.

The next day, people of all ages risk going into the streets and get stained with paint
of all colors. Everyone gets invÓld!

The objective of the festival is that people enjoy smearing each other with paint and
throwing coloured water. it is an incredible experience

SINCE WHEN IS IT CELEBRATED?

Holi is a Hindu (GÍNDU) festival that has been celebrated since ancient/EINCHENT
times. .I wan to ÉNFAZAIS that THERE ISN´T EXACT DATE OF ITS ORIGIN. BUT
NOW, The festival is celebrated over the course of several days, usually in the
second week of March. BECAUSE THE FESTIVAL CELEBRATES THE ARRIVAL
/ARRAIVOL OF SPRING

WHO IS INVOLVED?

The Holi Festival is celebrated by Hindus/GÍNDUS. That said,JUST A MOMENT

the festival is a very inclÚsive because one of the main themes/TIMS of the festival
is unity/YUNIRY. YOU CAN GO TO THE FESTIVAL WITH YOUR FAMILY AND
DISPLAY OTHERS THE GREAT CONNECTION YOU HAVE WITH YOUR FAMILY
MEMBERS AND THAT WILL SERVE/SERF AS AN EXAMPLE FOR THE
REST.EVEN PEOPLE ARRIVE FROM DIFFERENT PARTS OF THE WORLD TO
CELEBRATE THE FESTIVAL AND ARE WELL RECEIVED/RISÍF BY THE HINDUS
AND THEY ARENT DISCRIMINATED /DISCRIMINEIRED because Hindus
allow/ALAU us to invite foreigners/FÓRENERS

WHY DO PEOPLE DO IT?

Holi is the perfect outward/ATWORD expressions of infusing/INFIUSING hope into

our homes. Also, each color has a meaning, for that each person chooses a color
depending on what they want .For example. Blue is for .LET ME THINK . OH YES
lord Krishna; green represents rebirth/RIBÉRT and new beginnings; red
symbolizes/SÍMBOLAIZES love, marriage/MÉRRICH, and fertíliry; and yellow
represents túrmeric, which is an important ingrídient acróss cultures for its medícinal
próperties.

HOW HAS THIS TRADITION CHANGED THROUGHOUT THE YEARS?

The festival has become more commercial .Due/DU to the commercial

availability/ABÍLABILITY of attrÁctive color pÍgments, natural colors have been
riplÉIS with synthetic /SINTÉRIC colors along with the arrangement
/ARREÍCHMENT of 'bhang' that is a buzzword /BÁZWORD and means a modern
concept of a paste /PEIST OR CRIM made with KÉnnabis . it is a common word in
asia. now, in this festival there are fast music, fast food and influence/ÍNFLUENS
FROM other cultures from around the world. although/ÓLTO SOME FEEL A
REJECTION/RIJÁKCHION to THE FESTIVAL BECAUSE they think that IT IS
SCANDALOUS/ESKÉNDULUS Holi CONTINUES TO BE THE FAVORITE
FESTIVAL OF MANY PEOPLE. everyone has a different perspÉctive TO the festival,
but for me it is an experience that I would like to have in the future . FINALLY, I WILL
PERSUADE/PERSUÉD MY MOTHER TO VISIT INDIA AND CELEBRATE THIS
FESTIVAL
