Strong Reflection

A good pre-writing is a very useful tool when preparing an essay since it helps us

organize our ideas and information. Collecting our ideas helps our essays flow logically and

meaningfully by making the audience understand the information we are conveying as the

main ideas (Tjalla, 2016). One method I like to use before writing my paper is Journalist

Questions as it helps me divide and understand the information effectively, so the public

receives clear information. In addition, using W's questions allows me to conduct a more

detailed search and cover all the aspects I want to cover in my research, considering what,

where, when, how, and why

The Graphic Organizers Dividing and Classifying and the Graphic Organizers Topics

and Subtopics were beneficial for me in organizing my paper. However, these two graphic

organizers are different; both focus on the same objective, which is to separate or divide the

ideas of a topic into small fragments; in this way, you have the subtopics, the main idea, the

causes, and the consequences. It is a helpful tool for preparing a complete paper covering

every aspect of the topic and transmitting clear and direct information to the public.

My writing process has changed in several aspects, from choosing a suitable

environment to being able to write. I want a comfortable, quiet environment, an environment

that transmits peace and tranquility to be able to concentrate on my paper. A good light

source, a computer, or even a suitable desk are small details that influence my writing. Also,

before starting to write, I like to divide my theme into sub-themes, find the necessary and

relevant points, in this way, find the disadvantages or advantages of each topic, identify who

is affected, how to solve it, and when. Complying with these small details helps me put my

mind together and thus think about all the details of my paper, transmitting clear information

to the public. I used to have trouble organizing my ideas at the beginning and needed to

figure out where to start or what information to include to attract the public's attention. Still,

thanks to the graphic organizers, I have divided the information in a clear way that flows

logically, organized my ideas, did a brainstorm, and identified the objectives.

As a writer, I always check my paper, I make sure that there are no spelling mistakes,

good use of punctuation, and that the information is clear and flows logically, but sometimes

it is difficult to identify and correct these errors because many times we believe that the

information is correct. But unfortunately, we do not see the mistakes, so we need a second

opinion so that a colleague reviews our information. A review by a colleague is essential to

identify grammatical errors and, above all, to know if the information is clear; as writers, it is

difficult to tell if the information is transmitted clearly, that's why you need a review to

identify this aspect and improve our work. Other proofreading methods that I use are to read

my paper several times slowly and carefully and double-check any possible errors in my

writing (Cushing & Bodner, 2022), as well as to make use of the review provided by my

instructor or any expert on the subject since it is beneficial when I receive comments about

whether my information is organized, flows clearly, and is easy for the public to understand.

It is also helpful when I get feedback that I should use different words to avoid redundancy;

that would make my work look more professional.

In general, I consider that my writing skills have improved both in organizing ideas or

avoiding grammatical errors, as well as in choosing a good topic that is interesting and can

persuade the public since one of my biggest problems was to find an appropriate subject and

to find the right way of transmitting information clearly. Thanks to these methods, I can

easily talk about a specific topic, covering most aspects or main points, thus captivating the

public's attention.
