Leadership Goals
1. I will develop my leadership goals in learning and teaching
a. Goal: Encourage students’ increasing proficiency in using Historical
Thinking Skills to analyze historical events, make a claim, and support
their claim with evidence
b. Objective: Help students effectively support claims with evidence through
an understanding of logical inquiry
c. Rationale: Historical thinking skills allow students and historians to
develop unique accounts of past events or time periods within a particular
culture
d. NBPTS: Proposition 3: Teachers are responsible for managing and
monitoring student learning.
e. TLMD: Domain 2: Accessing and Using Research to Improve Practice and
Student Learning

2. I will develop my leadership goals in collaboration and professional development

a. Goal: Collaborate with colleagues and provide support and help to new
teachers.
b. Objective: Meet with the department, grade level, and all staff in order to
collaborate ideas, strategies, and support for classroom instruction. Also,
mentor and support new teachers in and out of the classroom.
c. Rationale: These supports help teachers with drive and motivation,
ultimately helping in retention of teachers on staff. Longer retention of staff
helps build a sense of community for our school as a whole.
d. NBPTS: Proposition 5- teachers are members of learning communities
e. TLMD: Domain 1- fostering a collaborative culture to support educator
development and student learning
