Leadership Goals
1. I will develop my leadership goals in collaboration, re ection, and professional
development

Goal: I will collaborate with colleagues to provide support and mentorship.

a. Short Term Objective: I will meet with department-level colleagues twice a


month to collaborate, share ideas, and re ect on learning strategies
b. Long Term Objective: Become a mentor in the school, both informally as
well as through future new teacher induction and teacher observation.
c. Rationale: E ective mentoring and support increases teacher retention,
helps new teachers build con dence, and contributes to overall success in
the school environment.

e ect of mentoring programs on teacher retention.

Goal: I will further develop my knowledge and implementation of positive behavioral


interventions and supports (PBIS), as well as teaching social and emotional skills
to both students and colleagues

a. Short Term Objective: Implement in-class and teacher PD discussions that


allow students and colleagues to re ect on their own emotional wellness, as
well as the emotional wellness of others in the learning environment
b. Long Term Objective: Create a parallel in-class and PD curriculum around
SEL and PBIS to facilitate a supportive, inclusive, and positive school culture
and learning environment.

ways to e ectively assess student use of historical thinking skills
b. Long Term Objective: Help students e ectively support claims with
evidence through an understanding of logical inquiry
c. Rationale: Historical thinking skills allow students and historians to develop
unique accounts of past events or time periods within a particular culture
