Methods of linking school to the workplace
 
 
These days many people think that a big distance exists between the university and the
working world. The reality is that this idea is sometimes true and affects the quality of
our education and the opportunities of future generations. 
 
Firstly, it is important to assume that we need to replace our concept of work
placements. It makes no sense that in current times many youngers have to do activities
such as making photocopies and taking coffees to their bosses. In my view, a good way
to remedy this problem it could be a new national legislation on the legal status of the
trainee. 
 
Secondly, it is known that one of the issues about young unemployment is the
difficulty that many students have to find a job when they finish their studies. One way
to solve this problem could be by trying to connect the employers and students in the
university space more effectively. For instance, the college could create a networking
space with the capacity of connecting students and employers. 
 
To sum up, in my view these ideas have the force of creating more work opportunities
for the student and have the capacity of being a source of knowledge for companies. In
my opinion, reducing unemployment and improving the link between the university and
the workplace is possible, we just need some creativity and a little bit of faith.
