TOPIC: NATURAL DISASTERS

What are the most significant lesson you learned in the topic?

(REFLECTIVE ESSAY)

Let me just say, first and foremost, the natural disaster is "the negative impact
following an actual occurrence of natural hazard in the event that it significantly
harms a community. Natural disaster causes for such calamities can be contributed
to deforestation, soil erosion and pollution. It generally associated with weather and
geological events, including extremes of temperature, floods, hurricanes,
earthquakes, stunamis, volcanic eruptions, landslides and drought.
Disasters disrupt hundreds of thousands of lives every year. Each disaster has lasting
effects, both to people and property. If a disaster occurs in our community, local
government and disaster-relief organizations will try to help us, but we need to be
ready as well. Local responders may not be able to reach us immediately, or they
may need to focus their efforts elsewhere.

We should know how to respond to severe weather or any disaster that could occur
in our area. We should also be ready to be self-sufficient for at least three days. This
may mean providing for our own shelter, first aid, food, water, and sanitation.

All individuals and families should have at 72-Hour Kit (Basic Disaster Supplies Kit) in
advance of an emergency.

Thus, I would love to state that it is important for students to learn about disasters
by educating them. It prepares both teachers and students for potential disasters,
therby reducing the impact of said disaster. However, if the students can then
transfer the knowledge to members of their families, it becomes general knowledge
and the community can prepare as well.

However, disaster readiness also known as emergency management should be highly

implemented to the people in every community for which disaster readiness is the
process we use to mitigate, prepare, respond, and recover from disasters. It's how
we save lives, protect property, and make sure the day that after a disaster is better
than the day before.

Preparedness is vital for every people in a community that able to reduce fear,
anxiety. Communities, families, and individuals should know what to do in the event
of a fire and where to seek shelter during a powerful storm.
