A lack of community awareness of the calibration

Scope of Research
The author and other member conduct research on
how to calibrate Measuring Instrument Temperature,
this study aims to increase the insight, expertise, and
knowledge of the students at the Pondok Pesantren
Foundation and the Nurul Ihsan Orphanage in terms of
calibration of temperature measuring instruments for
human body temperature detector. The calibration
procedure has its own Standard Operating Procedure
(SOP) by staff trained and certified electromedic. The
calibration used refers to on SNI (Indonesian National
Standard) and international references, through
calibration periodically, the accuracy and allowable
error limits can be is known. Where medical devices
must have strict performance, among others accuracy,
sensitivity, and safety aspects. So that in its use it will
always be ready to use and meet technical standard use
of medical equipment. Here the author conducted each 5
experiments at 3 different temperatures, in 32°C, 35°C,
and 37°C.
Implication of Findings
The results are based on the calculation of the
standard deviation of the three setting points determined
to get a data distribution value of 0.057 at 32°C, 0.044 at
35°C, and 0.057 at 37°C. The level of accuracy on these
measuring instruments can be categorized has a good
value and has a correction value that varies from each
point the setting. In the implementation of community
service, after the presenter conveys and explains all
theory and practicum, the next event the presenter
provides. An opportunity to question and answer
discussion with the students. It aims to increase
knowledge students and find out what the percentage
level of students' understanding of the material is that
has been delivered of the number of students who
participated as many as 17 people with backgrounds
diverse. From the results of the questions that were done,
most of the students understand the material and
practicum because they pay attention when explanation
of the presenters and only a small number of them have
difficulty understand the material because of non-
technical educational background.
Summary
Implementation and practicum of using a
measuring instrument for measuring thermometer
detection training human body temperature has been
implemented with satisfactory results. In author report
the students are able to take measurements with fairly
accurate, standard results the deviation of the results of
measuring the value of the thermometer using a mini dry
bath is obtained 0.044 to 0.057. Where the lower the
standard deviation or deviation the higher the accuracy.
The material provided is new for the students so that it
adds to their insight into the use of measuring
instruments to detect human body temperature, that the
tool is often encountered but does not know how it works
and its operation. Broadly speaking, students can
understand the material and practicum as well as can
perform calculations with measuring instruments and
calibrators presented by lecturer of the Mechanical
Engineering Study Program at Pamulang University.
