Alam, Md. K., et. al.’s study was about Banana-pseudostem sap growing media as a novel

source of phytochemicals and mineral nutrients: Influence on seedling growth of sweet

corn which involves extracting Banana-pseudostem sap with methanol solvent. Plant

extracts include phytochemicals that support a plant's ability to thrive. In this study, the

soluble nutrients and phytochemicals in banana pseudostem sap were identified and

quantified, and the influence on sweet corn seedling development was then examined.

Methanol was used to extract the collected banana pseudostem sap, which was then

followed by a liquid-liquid extraction process. Using the use of liquid chromatography

mass spectrometry (LC-MS), the extracted fractions were examined. This study contains

the method in collection and preparation of banana-pseudostem sap which the researcher

will include in his methodology section.
