The goal of this research is to create and characterize a novel bio-resin derived from

banana sap (BS) for low-end uses like the interior parts of cars. The bio-beginning resin’s

source was the sap from the banana plant (Musa Acuminata), which is grown in Kwa-

Zulu Natal, South Africa. Bio-resins are formed from many biological sources such as

chitosan poly lactic acid, soybean oil, collagen, carbohydrate-derivatives from starch or

cellulose, natural rubber based adhesives and natural phenolic adhesives such as tannin or

lignin. In this study banana sap, containing carbohydrates is used in the formulation of a

novel bio-resin. the aim of this study is to produce a bio-based resin system from banana

sap that is biodegradable and environmentally friendly. Clearly the material system must

have comparable thermal and mechanical properties with the existing system. This

research journal aims to develop and characterize a novel bio-resin made from banana

sap (BS) for low end applications such as the interior components of motor vehicles. This

research journal contributes greatly in my study due to the reason that this study could

enhance the life expectancy of the banana sap which could benefit the over-all study. The

only drawback of this study is that this study consumes to much time, money and effort
because there are a lot of test needed in order to formulate a novel bio-resin from banana

sap.
